The Arcadian was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament circuit organized by Beyond the Summit and sponsored by Papa John's Pizza, where globally ranked players and non-United States residents were not permitted to enter. Three qualifiers were held from July 24th, 2022 to October 23rd, 2022, with the Last Chance Qualifier and The Arcadian Finals being held at Mainstage 2022 on December 3rd, 2022 and December 4th, 2022 respectively. The qualified players from the online qualifiers won a trip to The Arcadian Finals at Mainstage 2022. The top 4 of The Arcadian Finals won a VIP trip to Smash Ultimate Summit 6, and the total prize pool for the finals was $50,000.
The circuit featured four qualifiers: three online, and a Last Chance Qualifier the day before The Arcadian Finals. Each online qualifier was split into two sections: a west coast bracket and an east coast bracket, and the top 2 players of each bracket qualified for the finals. The Last Chance Qualifier took place a day before the finals, and the top 4 players of the qualifier advanced to the finals. The 16 qualified players played in a double-elimination bracket at The Arcadian Finals. Dropping out from Ultimate singles' main bracket at Mainstage 2022 then participating in the Last Chance Qualifier was not permitted.[1]
Ineligible players[edit]
Players ranked on the Spring 2019 PGRU, Fall 2019 PGRU, PGRUContenders, OrionRank Pre-Quarantine, and OrionRank Ultimate: Eclipse (including the North American rankings[2]) were not eligible to participate in the circuit. Players had to be United States residents to participate.
