Summit of the Dakotas was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate invitational tournament held from June 11th-13th, 2021, in Madison, South Dakota. It was the first invitational Ultimate tournament in South Dakota, and features players from North and South Dakota. The invitational was a reference to the Smash Summit series.
A North Dakota vs. South Dakota crew battle was held as part of the event, which South Dakota won by four stocks.

One South Dakotan player qualified from winning Summit of the Dakotas - South Dakota Qualifier #2:
One qualified player was banned from the event due to making transphobic comments.[1]

The remaining 2 spots were be determined by a fan vote, and both voted players could hail from the same state. Anyone whose primary scene was in North or South Dakota was eligible to receive votes.
