Ripubura SP 9 was a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate regional tournament held in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on August 15th, 2024.
Tournament summary[edit]
The tournament's 1st seed, Lv.1 was upset by Pac-Man and 5th seed Yoshiko while using Isabelle. Lv.1 would proceed to win the event by defeating Elioth, WHIP, Yoko# and winning the reset against Yoshiko in grand finals.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the tournament was from Piya, a player better known for their skill in Melee. Piya, only seeded 37th, placed 9th, notably upsetting 6th seed DEAR. Another surprise run came from Famous Yoshimoto, placed 17th after upsetting 14th seed yuhei in pools despite only being seeded 78th.
