The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Riptide is a tournament series held at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio, featuring events for Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was founded in 2020 with its first iteration set to take place from September 11th-13th of the same year. However, the COVID-19 pandemic pushed the series back a year, and it officially began with Riptide, which took place from September 10th-12th, 2021.

Ever since its inception, Riptide events have attracted high entrants count and were often considered majors for their respective events. However, some of the series' Ultimate events became the subject of controversy regarding its tiering, as those events lacked enough top-level talent that seemingly contradicted its high entrants count. Regardless, Riptide has since became one of the premier Midwest events of the year, especially after the conclusion of several prominent Midwest series such as Smash 'N' Splash and Frostbite.

Alongside the main Smash events, Project+ was initially in the series' lineup; however, following a cease and desist from Nintendo, the game was removed from the lineup and was instead featured in its own separate series that took place around the same time.
