Thunder Gaming is a professional Esports organization based in Long Beach, California, owned by Thunder Studios.
Thunder Gaming first entered Smash as a tournament organizer, hosting Thunder Smash. They would continue as a tournament organizer, hosting Thunder Smash 2, as well as a weekly series, Thunder Smash Tuesdays. They began sponsoring players on August 8th, 2019, signing top Ultimate player MVD [1] and commentator VikkiKitty[2]. They would later go on to sign many top players in quick succession, signing Ginger [3] on August 14th, MuteAce[4] on August 16th, Westballz[5] on August 17th, and K9sbruce[6] on August 19th. In January 2020, eight players, casters and content creators left Thunder Gaming. Raito also left the team later, in November 2020. MVD parted ways with Thunder Gaming on March 11th, 2022.[7]
On September 30th, 2021, former Thunder Gaming employee paperfairy won a lawsuit against Thunder Gaming over $1,900 owed to him that had not been paid out.[8]
