What IS competitive expertise? Captain Cornwall (talk) 06:54, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

Place [the template] on articles you believe need better competitive knowledge added. This template adds pages to Category:Articles requiring competitive expertise. Scr7Wolfsig.png 07:05, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
Competitive expertise is being knowledgeable about competitive play, and thus can give better information about a move's applications, put information in a smasher stub, etc Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 10:41, 14 July 2013 (EDT)

What this template should be used for[edit]

The competitive expertise template should not be used to tag smasher articles that need tournament results. The template should be used to let knowledgeable players fill in information about an attack's uses in play and stuff like that. The smasher-stub and incomplete templates also cover incomplete smasher articles, and adding a competitive expertise template to all of the articles would make the old templates redundant. Who can remove the template?[edit]

I have a question regarding this template, so who and when is the template allowed to be removed? The moveset articles I did for Peach, I feel like the overviews are complete. However, do I have to be a staff to have the right to remove the template or do I have to talk on the article page to agree for the removal of the template? Pretty much anyone is allowed to remove it as long as the overview is filled in enough. What "filled in enough" means varies depending on the move. Pummels, for example, barely need anything; usually the most you can say is it is better/worse than X move for damaging racking (though it is possible to say more). I'd say in general if you can list its strengths (e.g. KOs early or good combo starter), weaknesses (e.g. move X does the job better), and some combo stuff, then you're good to remove the template. --CanvasK (talk) 08:59, November 30, 2022 (EST)
