Actually, if Floaty Jumps is anything to go by, it's possible that midair jumps don't get adjusted for external gravity stat modifiers, and only consider base gravity, however this needs confirmation. Regardless, there are definite downsides to the gravity increase.

Hopefully last edit for now; this applies to all Arts actually, it's just less noticeable for the rest because of their KB multipliers

Smash 4 and Ultimate determine jump height directly instead of putting a jump force value against gravity, so Speed's grav mult actually has no effect on jump height, only jump duration (and it had reduced height in S4 too). Also gave Speed's knockback calculation a clearer explanation.
