Team:Plupbox
Plupbox is the name of the Super Smash Bros. Melee doubles team of Hungrybox and Plup. The team first appeared on the national scene at Apex 2012 and initially consisted of Jigglypuff and Samus. Plup eventually switched to Sheik by EVO 2015 doubles and later to Fox by Smash Summit 3 doubles, while Hungrybox remained static with Jigglypuff. The team disbanded after 2016 but returned in the post-Slippi era.
The team is often considered by many to be one of the strongest Melee doubles teams, owing to the team's success across different metagames and the team placing no lower than 5th at any doubles event. The team found their greatest success in the post-Slippi era, where they achieved a 39-set win streak between Riptide and Riptide 2024 and won several events, most notably GENESIS 9. Their dominance during this time led Melee Stats editor Edwin Budding to place a $1,000 bounty for the first team to defeat the duo in their next three majors after MAJOR UPSET.[1]
