Talk:Zelda (SSBB)
how the second edit about her role in the story mode considered vandalism?
^^^ I don't know. But people, stop changing Zelda's B move to Nayru's Love. It hasn't been confirmed! Ethanrodgers223 10:30, November 8, 2007 (EST)
i thought you could only choose between mario and kirby in the beginning?
Twilight Change[edit]
Okay, here's my point of contention. When we first got information about Zelda's Twilight Change, it was originally posted in Japanese by someone on 2chan, correct? Some board members did a (machine) translation, and a parenthetical note next to Twilight Change implied that Zelda would transform into a Twilight Princess adaptation of Sheik. This may or may not be true; we have yet to see the front of Zelda's Corocoro card for ourselves (to verify that it is truly listed as such), and the parenthetical note may very well have been a personal addition by the Japanese poster. Until then, we still shouldn't out-and-out confirm Sheik. Aeris 11:14, January 11, 2008 (EST)
"Consistency"[edit]
The difference between Princess Zelda and Zelda is largely unimportant, but as it is a smash encyclopedia, it makes more sense to me to have Princess Zelda (SSBM) redirect to Zelda (SSBM), as that is how she appears in the game. It's similar to the differences between Pikmin & Olimar and Captain Olimar. Pikmin & Olimar is the gameplay-article and not the redirect because that is how they are presumed to be named for Brawl, even though "Pikmin & Olimar" as a collective single unit was never referenced in previous Pikmin games. Same deal with the stages, which all appear to draw absurd formatting conventions and nomenclature from the stage select screen. If you were going for consistency, moving Zelda to Princess Zelda is the wrong direction. --RJM Talk 12:37, January 19, 2008 (EST)
- So, titles don't matter, unless stated otherwise like King Dedede right? So what about titles like Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog, Samus Aran, and Fox McCloud? Magiciandude 16:24, January 20, 2008 (EST)
Uh?[edit]
What happened to the trivia section? or am I not looking in the right place? o.o Baltro (talk) 01:03, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- TWSS. Oh, and I put some back in. Now we just sit back and watch vandalism come pouring in about random crap that just has to be put in the trivia section."SK--Bow down to the king.~Now what have you done? 01:13, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Seriously?[edit]
Is anybody ever going to be content with the section about her role in the Subspace Emissary? Baltro (talk) 23:48, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Down aerial[edit]
Zelda's down aerial deals 16% (not 21%). However has very high knockback. Can someone fix damage? 189.153.156.179 22:49, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Title[edit]
Wikis aren't supposed to have abreviations in the title. It should be "Zelda (Super Smash Bros. Brawl)". 68.43.222.187 13:16, 25 June 2011 (EDT)
Changes from Melee to Brawl[edit]
That part of the articles should get a cleanup. It shows too much of useless and not so effective buffs Zelda has while ignoring her nerfs that made such a crappy character. Doc King (talk) 17:26, 28 August 2011 (EDT)
- Zelda really didn't received any nerfs, rather than her not getting buffs in the areas she needed them. Omega Tyrant 17:29, 28 August 2011 (EDT)
- Zelda lost her chain throw from Melee, Her fair and bair are nerfed by having a smaller sweetspot hitbox, and the loss of L-Cancelling, moonwalking (Not big but you could mention it), and slower Up-B cancel on the edge. I don't know if you guys include this or not, but you might want to add in how she has almost unwinnable matchups against MK and Oli. I think you should mention some nerfs so ppl can see why she's so low on the tier list. Doc King (talk) 17:34, 28 August 2011 (EDT)
- A lost of a chain throw is a nerf, which can be mentioned if it was important to her in Melee. I don't recall fair and bair having smaller sweetspots, their sweetspots seem the same size to me in both games. L-Cancelling isn't noteworthy, as Zelda wasn't one of the most affected characters by its removal. Moonwalking isn't really notable for her, as Zelda didn't have much utilisation for it, thus its removal didn't have a notable impact. And Zelda's recovery doesn't grab the ledge slower.

Unreliable Finishers?[edit]
Are they really unreliable? Because they seem very reliable to me. YoshiKong (talk) 18:06, 5 December 2014 (EST)
- You probably haven't played good people then. The kick sweetspots are much smaller than in Melee and you can't get them off hit confirms because Brawl's physics. To get kicks you have to get them off hard reads and by the definition of a hard read, you'll never be hitting the majority of them. --BrianDon't try me! 23:42, 5 December 2014 (EST)
So her other finishers are also unreliable? YoshiKong (talk) 09:20, 6 December 2014 (EST)
- Yea dude. You can SDI out of her forward smash. The strong hits of her up air and down air are harder to land than the kicks. She's a pretty bad character if you haven't noticed.--BrianDon't try me! 09:51, 6 December 2014 (EST)
She's one of my mains (I never use Sheik). Also, i found this Zelda far better than Melee's, because, (as mentionned in the Moveset section) her forward and up smashes are no longer capable to be SDI'd out of, and i found Din's Fire way better than in Melee. YoshiKong (talk) 14:31, 6 December 2014 (EST)
- The reduced SDI on smashes does help a bit, but multi-hit smashes will always be a bit worse than single-hit smashes just by the nature of being almost impossible to guarantee a perfect link every time (especially when charge level is considered). Din's Fire is better yes, but that doesn't make it good unfortunately; it still can't hit people as it moves (unlike most other projectiles) and can't be safely used in the air. Zelda's design just doesn't work very well under tournament conditions. Toomai Glittershine The Non-Toxic 14:59, 6 December 2014 (EST)
I'll never understand this, the character was greatly buffed, but is a worse character to use. :| That's ok, I don't play Zelda much anyway. :p Smash Master 15:35, 6 December 2014 (EST)
- You guys must be very inexperienced in competitive play. The majority of good players would agree Zelda was nerfed from Melee to Brawl. Lack of consistency in landing kicks is a huge deal since that's her main threat in neutral. Also it is definitely possible to SDI out of Forward Smash, Up smash and Nair. I have done it multiple times. You just aren't doing it correctly. Hold the C stick up and then quarter circle your control stick in the direction you want to escape. This is sufficient SDI to get out of most multihit attacks. --BrianDon't try me! 21:34, 6 December 2014 (EST)
Regarding this[edit]
So mentioning modified or new palette swaps is a change from Melee, but it's sort of been an unwritten rule that we don't include that information into the "Changes from (game)" sections of articles. What do we do about that? John HUAH! 10:41, 22 June 2017 (EDT)
