The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Deletion[edit]

No- Helped the series.--MegaTron1XD:p 02:39, September 28, 2010 (UTC)

I know he's the creator of Earthbound - as a fan of that game I deeply respect him - but what exactly did he do for super smash bros? I didn't even know he worked for HAL Labratory. I thought he was just a story writer. Anon 03:28, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
Part of the original development teams for SSB and SSBM. There's nothing to gain from deleting it.--MegaTron1XD:p 03:29, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
What exactly was his role? Did he contribute anything significant? We don't need an article for every single worker on SSB. Sir Anon the great 03:31, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
Notable as the creator of Earthbound, so a famous person should get a mentioning for helping out in the first 2 Smash games.--MegaTron1XD:p 03:33, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, checking SSB64's credits reveals that the only reason he's even mentioned there is because he created one of the characters. He didn't actually help. Mr. Anon (talk) 01:25, 3 April 2011 (EDT)

I still say we create a page that gives brief blurbs about all of the major individuals from the credits of the Smash games, and Mr. Itoi would definitely fall into that category. He is, after all, the only person listed by name on Brawl's title screen. Miles (talk) 11:38, 3 April 2011 (EDT)

Deletion Part 2[edit]

Discuss here. Itoi was never a part of the development team for 64 or Melee. He was merely listed under the "Original Game Staff" sections of both games as Earthbound producer. I have massive respect for him and his creations, but he just isn't notable enough in Smash. Pokebub (talk) 00:59, 29 March 2018 (EDT)

Support. Eh, this makes a bit more sense, I guess... Iron Reggie, the Fearsome Warrior 01:40, 5 April 2018 (EDT)

Oppose, and I'm actually tempted to revert this deletion tag under the grounds that nothing new has been brought to the table here. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 23:49, 29 June 2018 (EDT)

It's been seven years since the deletion was last discussed. What's been brought to the table is basically an entirely new group of users who should be allowed to have their opinions heard, too.
That said, I also oppose deletion. TheNuttyOne 00:13, 30 June 2018 (EDT)

Oppose; once again, the fact that Itoi is literally a co-owner of a playable Smash character makes him notable enough for the same reason we have pages for Konami, Game Freak, etc. Miles (talk) 00:31, 30 June 2018 (EDT)

Strong Oppose yeah, I think that just having that as a reason for deletion is enough, you have good sources and that, as I am quickly learning how wikis work. George Jones (talk) 18:24, 30 June 2018 (EDT)
