Notices
The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

I don't think it flies freely. I've seen him making motions that are clearly jumping, perfectly following the contours of a platform, and even fallinjg to his death while using this move. The Inker 00:12, February 3, 2008 (EST)

it could be either. some times, it looks like it's floating, sometimes jumping, sometimes clinging to the undersides of platforms. we really can't say much until we get more information. FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 01:15, February 3, 2008 (EST)
Quite strange. I have seen 3 videos of this, and all of them depict him flying freely. Slowly, mind you, but freely nontheless.--Oxico 07:29, February 3, 2008 (EST)
Nevermind I proved myself wrong. :P.--Oxico 20:39, February 4, 2008 (EST)

I've noticed that the octopus' trophy only says SSBB as the game it is from, even if the trophy mentions that it appeared in "octopus". Shall I add this to the trivia section?ShanicpowerShanicpower.png 08:11, 29 May 2012 (EDT)
