Splitting information[edit]
We could put most of it on the community page, with a section titled "relationship with Nintendo" or something like that. Heck, even Wikipedia's own page on competitive Smash has a "relationship with Nintendo" section. - EndGenuity (talk) 12:53, October 30, 2023 (EDT)
- Agreed, I think most of the info on this page can be summarized in a few sentences, and the rest on the community page. Awesome Cardinal 2000 13:10, October 30, 2023 (EDT)
- I agree with this as well. Basically make the " Community Vs. Nintendo" subsection into its own section. CookiesCreme 14:15, October 30, 2023 (EDT)
- Support: Most of the stuff written in that section is better suited there because it's just a history lesson of the community's relationship with Nintendo, rather than relating to the guidelines itself. A brief summary of past events though should still be kept to provide more context for why the guidelines were met with division. Ultimate Toad, the Toad Warrior. - Yeah, I agree. The section has moved quite out of scope - it was initially just meant to focus on the fighting games in the wider FGC receiving tournament community guidelines themselves. It could easily be chopped down with a "main article" signifier -Plague von Karma 20:10, October 30, 2023 (EDT)
- I see. I was focused on what was in the incomplete tag so I ended up going over the factors that led to the controversy, not just the relationship with the FGC. I'd try splitting this all myself now but I'm not sure of the best way to organize it lol. - EndGenuity (talk) 21:02, October 30, 2023 (EDT)
