I am just wondering, do you need to beat Classic mode as every character to unlock Luigi, or just 1 character.

Just 1 character in Classic. I just beat the Subspace Emissary to get him. And I believe that's how you unlock him in Brawl. SMDC5000

Incorrect trivia

16th Maximus cup.

Today, Nintendo announced the 16th maximus cup with returns 3 themes for Tetris 99. One of the returning cups is Luigi's mansion 3 which obviously has Luigi in it.
