Talk:Fire Arrow
Renamed[edit]
Shouldn't this page be renamed to "Fire Arrow"? Although it was originally referred to as "Fire Bow" (at least as Toon Link's custom in Smash 4), but its new name in Ultimate is more consistent with what the move is actually called in the Zelda series. I only ask because of Ultimate's more consistent rename of the move. Wolff (talk) 16:14, April 23, 2019 (EDT)
- Support. We should be using the latest names of moves as the main titles. F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 15:09, April 26, 2019 (EDT)
- Support as per F0rZ3r0F0r. XtraTalk Edits 07:05, April 29, 2019 (EDT)
- Support: why would we use a name Toon Link used for a custom for a page mainly about Young Link? Lou Cena (talk) 20:01, May 2, 2019 (EDT)
3 supports is not a consensus, and you do not move an article by copying its contents. SerpentKing 21:41, May 3, 2019 (EDT)
- Once again, this. Even if you didn't know, wolff, that I had reverted this once already, you should have checked the talk page and seen this message. SerpentKing 22:36, May 3, 2019 (EDT)
- While this debate continues, the start of the page should likely be set back to what it was before the moving saga took its latest turn. Before all that happened today, the page began:
- Fire Bow (renamed Fire Arrow in Ultimate)
- I apologize if I made my edit prematurely. With the removal of the merge tag on the main page, after looking at the talk page, for some reason I thought a consensus had been reached. However, I believe the reason why I did not see Lou Cena's or your edits following the removal of the merge tag was because I was editing both Fire Bow and Fire Arrow at the same time and double checking my edits (the removal of the merge tag was the last edit the page had shown prior). I think by the time I had finished, yours and Lou Cena's edits had already happened. I apologize for misunderstanding the situation. Wolff (talk) 01:52, May 4, 2019 (EDT)
- Actually, I’m the one who should apologize here, as I’m the one who mistakenly believed that we had reached a consensus. Since I’ve been constantly reminded that a consensus isn’t based on a vote, I was looking for the evidence that it should move, and the origin thing alone was enough for me to think that was worth moving it. My bad. Lou Cena (talk) 01:58, May 4, 2019 (EDT)

- Fire Bow (renamed Fire Arrow in Ultimate)
- This reversion would cause the least amount of confusion, at least for the time being. I can't make the edit myself, as that can only be done for now by administrators... hence why I brought up the matter for discussion here. DarkFox01Venom, here we come! 22:38, May 3, 2019 (EDT)

- Support. The page should be as up to date as possible, and adding another support moves us closer to ending this unnecessary edit war. KungFuLakitu (talk) 23:00, May 3, 2019 (EDT)
I still believe that this page should be renamed to the more accurate name change. Wolff (talk) 01:55, May 11, 2019 (EDT)
- I also believe that it should be renamed to Fire Arrow, as both Ultimate and the Zelda series use the name. Technically “Fire Bow” was this move’s name in Melee, but it isn’t anymore. Lou Cena (talk) 13:58, May 11, 2019 (EDT)
I think it should be renamed, seeing as how several special moves got their names changed in later Smash games, like Kirby's Inhale was known as Vacuum in the original Super Smash Bros. and Swallow in Melee. Juju1995 (talk) 14:17, May 11, 2019 (EDT)
Bump I don’t think this is supposed to be vote based, but we have 6 supports and no points of opposition. Have we come to a proper consensus yet? Lou Cena (talk) 03:53, May 13, 2019 (EDT)
- Support in theory, but if we move this one to the more modern name, shouldn't we do the same for this one too? John HUAH! 10:45, May 14, 2019 (EDT)
- Hammer Flip is only the new name in the United States and Canada I believe. It’s still just “Hammer” everywhere else, such as Japan, France, and England. Unless we have a preference for US names (since Duck Hunt Duo is just Duck Hunt here), it should probably stay as Hammer. Lou Cena (talk) 21:32, May 14, 2019 (EDT)
Bump Again. 7 supports and nobody has stated any valid reason to keep it the way it is. Lou Cena (talk) 14:31, May 21, 2019 (EDT)
