Move proposal[edit]

Strong oppose. Can you stop with the pointless article renaming? A redirect with the proposed name already exists, why the heck do we need this? Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 19:12, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Articles are to be named by their primary topic, which means the term most commonly used for the phrase. In this case, I've seen "Edgehogging" spelled more commonly without a dash (SmashWiki is the only place I've ever seen it spelled with a dash). Just because a redirect exists does not mean this article needs to stay where it is; in many cases the redirect should actually be the correct title. Awesome Cardinal 2000 19:56, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Oppose. There is absolutely no point in renaming an article when the name works both ways and the page has a redirect with the name in question. St. Reggie, Leprachaun 23:42, 27 February 2018 (EST)

Except we use the more common and popular name as the main title, and if you look onto any sort of Smash-themed website, you'll see that everyone spells it without a dash. As I explained before, a redirect could in fact be the proper title for the page. Awesome Cardinal 2000 21:28, 28 February 2018 (EST)
But it's not necessary. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 21:49, 1 March 2018 (EST)
What's not necessary? Actually explain why you think it isn't, or maybe respond to something I said. If it really bothers you that I'm pushing for this page rename, then just don't comment on the talk page and ignore it. Awesome Cardinal 2000 00:33, 2 March 2018 (EST)
It's not necessary to waste time and effort on something as small as a dash, that's what isn't necessary. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 01:40, 2 March 2018 (EST)
If you think it's a waste of time, leave it alone and let someone else deal with it. Awesome Cardinal 2000 03:28, 2 March 2018 (EST)
Nobody will, seeing what people have put on this talk page. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 03:32, 2 March 2018 (EST)
An administrator will move the page if the discussion is deemed finished. Awesome Cardinal 2000 12:28, 2 March 2018 (EST)
Can you both give it a rest please? You two are just going back and forth now and not getting anywhere other than bloating the page. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 17:31, 2 March 2018 (EST)

The page Edge-guarding was moved to Edgeguarding a few weeks ago with no problems whatsoever, I don't see why you guys are so opposed to this one. Awesome Cardinal 2000 20:05, 2 March 2018 (EST)

Because we, quite frankly, are sick of you putting useless move tags on pages. Administrators won't move this, trust me. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 22:55, 2 March 2018 (EST)

I honestly don't care one way or the other on this one, for the record Serpent SKSig.png King 22:59, 2 March 2018 (EST)

Exactly. St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 23:00, 2 March 2018 (EST)

Actually, support to be consistent with edgeguarding. Serpent SKSig.png King 23:26, 2 March 2018 (EST)
God damnit Serpent

lol jk

St. Reggie, the Iron Leprachaun Warrior 00:13, 3 March 2018 (EST)

Support per Awesome Cardinal and Serpent King. Consistency and relevance are important for article names. That's why we don't call Tech "ukemi." John John3637881 Signature.png HUAH! 20:25, 14 March 2018 (EDT)

Support. Sure. I'll agree to that. MHStarCraft Mega Man X SNES sprite.png 21:24, 21 March 2018 (EDT)

Support as per Serpent and John's evidence. They made me realize that this would be the better thing to do in this case. Iron Reggie, the Easter Bunny Warrior 03:19, 25 March 2018 (EDT)

Support. I've been convinced by SK. As such, I motion to declare the proposal successful. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 06:58, 25 March 2018 (EDT)

I second that. Iron Reggie, the Easter Bunny Warrior 01:08, 26 March 2018 (EDT)
