The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Talk:Command-input move
Move[edit]
I couldn't find any usage of "command input special" in for WiiU or Ultimate while "command-input move" is used everywhere in Ultimate. Name also implies that the special-button is used for all of them which is only true for one attack. --CanvasK (talk) 19:37, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
- Don't have a solid agreement or disagreement yet, but I would like to ask about what you mean by "only true for one attack." If I'm not terribly confused, this is entirely incorrect, as almost all of the moves listed here can be performed with the attack OR special button. Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss.

- It's the "OR" that I'm referring to. Almost every attack except for Spinning Demon to Left Hook and Gates of Hell are able to be performed with the attack button. I'm saying that "command input special moves" implies they are performed with just the special-button. Removing "special" allows it to be more general. --CanvasK (talk) 20:00, July 19, 2021 (EDT)
- Support. I haven't seen many people use this term in its entirety, often saying "command input", "command special", or even just "command move". The in-game term covers most bases while being open-ended. Gates of Hell is particularly well-covered on the basis of literally being a command grab. Command input moves have evolved to be their own beast, as CanvasK implies, so it's better to treat them this way. It removes a word, makes it more open-ended, and it's more future-proofed. As a person who helped revamped the page, there's no reason not to do it. --

Support, the title as is violates two rules in the manual of style, so it should be moved asap. "Command input move" is a good suggestion. Rdrfc (talk) 03:43, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
Yes I think a move to "command input" would be an improvement. Toomai Glittershine The Non-Toxic 07:33, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
Support with no new arguments to add, and I, for one, am inclined towards the generic name of "Command Input." It's short and very all-encompassing. Sincerely, Samuel the Banjo-Kazooie Boss. 10:05, July 20, 2021 (EDT)
