The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Talk:Advanced technique
Gifs[edit]
i feel like a lot of these could use an image on their pages. some of them have youtube clips, but no gifs. ill try to whip some up, but in the mean time, does it make sense to tag these pages as needing animated images/videos?
- If you feel a gif is more appropriate than a YT video, go ahead. Though, if one article has a video that shows the technique appropriately, it may not need to be tagged, but you can still replace it with a gif if it's better. Scr7

List of character-specific advanced techniques[edit]
Might I suggest a change to this page? The "List of character-specific advanced techniques" section is (despite the fact that I made it) very messy. I think it should be merged into the main table. Unless someone has a better suggestion, it should be done to make the page flow better and all that. Alternatively, if people are uncomfortable merging the two sections, a separate table could be made for the character-specific moves.
I also feel that at this point, throwing Project M into the table is not really necessary. People might argue that it's not dead but it certainly doesn't get the attention it used to. Plus since the point of Project M is basically "Melee but with a few things from Brawl" it's a little redundant in my opinion. The unwritten-but-certainly-not-official rule of the wiki has been to only include Project M in mainspace articles about things not directly related to the game's mechanics, like Twitch, modding pages, controller pages, power rankings, and other things like that. Metagame Relevance[edit]
For the character-specific material I noticed that there are a few entries that, while difficult, don't really apply to tournament play or metagame. Things like the Frozen turnip glitch would never be used as part of a high-level match(not to mention being stuck in 1.0) and the Freeze glitch is outright banned. There are some niche gray areas like Flame canceling which can only be used by Kirby in the current metagame format despite the technique being listed under Bowser. This is also why I have added PK Trap glitch to Ness' list but not Empty Chamber glitch; the latter does not apply to metagame.--SimnaibnSind (talk) 01:11, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
