Merge[edit]

As CrappyCaptureDevice's History series are notable, yet still known by all of the SSB community, I think the two should be merged as a page. My question is, which should be the main article: CCD or the History series? FyreNWater - (TalkContributions ) 07:34, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Maybe it should be merged with the name of the History Behind Super Smash Bros. series. - Amycats2 (talk) 13:06, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Unprotect that Discussion Page on the Smash Wikia Or Else![edit]

CCD will be mighty angry if that discussion page of his is not unprotected on the Smash Wikia. Remove it or else I'll do it to the article on this wiki.

CCD's Bound to Return soon this Month[edit]

I'm staying on this wiki till Unknown comes back to youtube. CCD is sure to back this this move, this can't be taken any longer. If he's not back by my birthday, I'll move the article, here to SlackyCaptureDevice. So, I need his phone number, now. How much longer, we haven't got all childhood. He took a 4 month hiatus in 2008 whne he went to Japan. 58.7.205.57 01:49, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

Kewl story bro. I'll just swing a ban hammer riiiiiight here. MegaTron1XD:p 01:50, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

Well[edit]

After this discussion was locked by Conker on Wikia, I can do it here. I feel guilt for my behaviour and I promise to help improve the place. Like, I'm waiting till the Niwa Super Mario Wikimpeople forget me which I'm sure they have now and what I've been up to.

I won't do ny ofbthis men stuff ever again. 58.163.175.172 07:41, 18 April 2012 (EDT)

Remove the Pages Protection[edit]

Look. CCD will be angry if you don't unprotect that article. Remove the protection now, it has to be Temporary,

Actually, what we've done is quite crafty, because it means that users such as myself can still edit the page constructively, but you can't ruin it by changing it into crappy SmashWikia's crappy article. CrappyCaptureDevice himself doesn't mind a jot that you can't edit his page. In fact, we're all rather jolly that you can't. You claim you are going to stop vandalising, and are going to help out with the Wiki, but calling Miles a bully and constantly turning pages into their inferior forms isn't entirely helping.

Smasherspace[edit]

Alright, let's look at the definition of Smasher we use: A smasher refers to a dedicated player of any Super Smash Bros. game, though the term came into regular use in competitive Melee. Although even casual Smash Bros. players can be considered smashers, the term is mostly used in the smash community when talking about competitive players and professionals, especially those who compete in local or regional tournaments. (emphasis added)

CCD is certainly "dedicated" in the sense that he has put up a vast amount of history behind the series, and he is notable enough to warrant an article. Thus, he belongs in Smasherspace. Furthermore, the article still contains the tag "smasher". We might as well move it to the appropriate setting. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 14:28, 13 June 2012 (EDT)

We've established our definition of Smasher in terms of individuals to be those who play the game competitively or are strongly associated with the competitive scene. It does not extend to other persons of importance to the Smash community. Miles (talk) 15:35, 13 June 2012 (EDT)
What about Gideon then? He's not a competitive player, and only indirectly is related to the competitive scene. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 15:43, 13 June 2012 (EDT)
He founded SmashBoards. That qualifies as associated with the competitive scene to me. Miles (talk) 15:45, 13 June 2012 (EDT)

I actually didn't see this before I moved the page to the smasher space, but anyways, Miles' arguments are terribad as usual; one's ties to the competitive scene is not a criteria for being in the smasher space. A person who gained significance in the community that did not have a part in the development of Smash, yet managed to satisfy our notability guidelines to get an article here, goes in the smasher namespace. CCD "not being a part of the competitive community" is completely irrelevant. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:22, 11 October 2012 (EDT)

Smash History (The Game Theorist)[edit]

Should there be an article on the Smash History series on The Game Theorist channel on YouTube? While their videos are not nearly as in depth as CCD was, nor do they have as many videos as CCD does, they are pretty popular on YouTube with all their videos either in the millions or close. CCD also has been inactive for almost 4 years, and TGT does Smash History videos for Sm4sh, making them more relevant. For better or worse they are far more popular than CCD was in his prime, and are the most notable people doing history videos currently, so I believe at least the video series itself should have an article on the wiki. Thoughts? Unknown the Hedgehog 05:28, 6 October 2015 (EDT)

No. The only reason this gets mentioned is the fact that CCD also actually plays. TGT does not. SerpentKing (talk) 15:35, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Actually, there's a better reason. See, CCD is Smash only; GT spans across multiple games. Aidanzapunksignature.pngAidan, Master of Speed and AuraAidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNG 15:37, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Oppose per Serpent King and Aidanzapunk. Nyargleblargle (Talk · Contribs) 15:38, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Nono. TGT has a show called "Smash History". SerpentKing (talk) 15:38, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Yea, I know, but the rest of his channel spans across all games. (Also, that technically isn't MatPat in that.) Aidanzapunksignature.pngAidan, Master of Speed and AuraAidanzapunkSignaturesmall.PNG 15:43, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
I also wasn't arguing for TGT to have an article, but rather the video series itself. And I'm sure the guy who does the series (it's indeed not Mat Pat, but idk who it is off the top of my head) plays Smash too on an amateur level just as CCD did. Unknown the Hedgehog 16:02, 6 October 2015 (EDT)

You mean Trailer Drake? He has his own channel. Just check the channels tab on the GT page. DekZek, The creature of your nightmares Dekzeksig-Oct.png 16:33, 6 October 2015 (EDT)

Ah, alright. Thank you. Unknown the Hedgehog 20:00, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
Regardless, the show will not be getting a page. That is out of the question. SerpentKing (talk) 20:15, 6 October 2015 (EDT)
I do not see how this is out of the question. Please explain. Unknown the Hedgehog 01:24, 9 October 2015 (EDT)
If you ask me, I don't think the Game Theoriest is notable or even talked about in the Smash community while CCD is notable on the other hand. Dots (talk) Mega Man X SNES sprite.png The Ocarina of Time 01:43, 9 October 2015 (EDT)
Having a page on TGT:SH is only marginally more acceptable than having a article over smash LPs. SerpentKing (talk) 02:02, 9 October 2015 (EDT)
Fair enough. Unknown the Hedgehog 04:23, 9 October 2015 (EDT)

Protection[edit]

Remove it, it is not needed anymore cause by the looks of it there will be no vandalism to thus page and... this guy is probably dead or something (Maybe) PoultrysigSSB4.pngPoultryPoultrysigSSBM.png(talk) the God-Slayer 15:46, 27 June 2016 (EDT)

Er...the protection was removed two years ago. Disaster Flare Disaster Flare signature image.png (talk) 15:49, 27 June 2016 (EDT)
