'''Ally''' was a Canadian former ''Smash'' player who was active for around a decade. He is considered one of the best ''Smash'' players of all-time, being a top-level player for four different competitive scenes, as well as one of the best Canadian ''Smash'' players of all-time.

Ally was first known for his performances in ''[[Brawl]]'', where he was considered the best {{SSBB|Snake}} player of all-time, as well as one of the best ''Brawl'' players of all-time. He was the first Snake player to win a [[Major (SSBB)|major]], winning {{Trn|Apex 2009}}, and since then has won several other majors with Snake. He later picked up {{SSBB|Meta Knight}} and also used the character to win several majors in 2011, including {{Trn|Pound V}} and {{Trn|WHOBO 3}}. All-in-all, Ally won a total of nine majors, the second-most major wins out of any ''Brawl'' player.

Following ''Brawl'', Ally similarly became known for his performance in ''[[Smash 4]]''; particularly, he was considered the best ''Smash 4'' {{SSB4|Mario}} player of all-time, as well as one of the best ''Smash 4'' players of all-time, ultimately ranking 5th on the [[PGR 100]]. He was known for being one of {{Sm|ZeRo}}'s main rivals: although he was only the sixth player to defeat ZeRo and the second to eliminate him, doing both at {{Trn|Get On My Level 2016}}, he later became a recurring foe to ZeRo, eliminating him at events such as {{Trn|Super Smash Con 2016}} and {{Trn|GENESIS 4}}. Ally ultimately had eight set wins against ZeRo, the most compared to other players. Although he only has a couple of major victories under his belt, one of these victories include {{Trn|EVO 2016}}, the [[List of largest Smash tournaments|largest]] ''Smash 4'' tournament of all time and arguably Ally's largest win of his career.

Outside of ''Brawl'' and ''Smash 4'', Ally had made noticeable impacts in both ''[[Project M]]'' and ''[[Ultimate]]''. In ''Project M'', he was known as the best {{PM|Ike}} player in the game and won {{Trn|Shots Fired}}, which remains the only solo-Ike win at a major. Although he stopped competing in the game in 2016, he was still ranked 37th on the [[PMRank 2016]]. In addition, Ally was active in the early months of ''Ultimate'', where he once again played {{SSBU|Snake}}. Despite some early troubles, he eventually cemented himself as one of the best players in the early metagame, especially following his win at {{Trn|Pound 2019}}, which remained Snake's only major win for over four years. As such, although he was only active for a short period of time, he is considered one of the best Snake players of all-time.

Ally's tournament career took a halt following increased scrutiny into his relationship with {{Sm|CaptainZack}}, which led him to be unofficially ranked 6th on the [[Spring 2019 PGRU]], as well as assault allegations from his ex-girlfriend, the latter of which he denied. Although he has only appeared at a couple of local events since, he is effectively retired from competitive play.

He played {{SSB4|Mario}} and was well known for his consistent punish and defensive/aggressive options that allowed him to take control of a match. He was adept for catching onto an opponent's habits, allowing him to read air dodges and dominate his opponent through [[hard read]]s. This is mostly exemplified through [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HDL303a3FE his match against {{Sm|ZeRo}}, the undisputed best player in the world] where he dissected the neutral game and downloaded his opponent. Besides his prowess in the neutral, Ally also was well known for his repeated usage of Mario's up smash multiple times in a row due to it being extremely safe. This characteristic of the move allowed Ally to play very risky for a kill, yet still remained unscathed while getting into his opponent's head.

Ally reprises his old main {{SSBU|Snake}} and uses {{SSBU|Mario}} as a secondary. With Snake, Ally plays aggressively and places [[grenades]] in positions that would allow him a combo opportunity or a situation where Ally could take control. Along with this, he also utilizes Snake's powerful [[up tilt]] to secure kills, in semblance to his Mario [[up smash]] habit in ''Smash 4''. ===Rise to Fame===

Ally first gained prominence at his first United States tournament nearly a year after the release of Brawl at [http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=215698 Cataclysm 4], placing 3rd after losing to {{Sm|Mew2King}} and {{Sm|Azen}}. He later placed 2nd at [[Clash of the Titans IV]] after being double eliminated by Mew2King. Ally would go on to win [[Apex 2009]] and [[GENESIS]] defeating Mew2King at both tournaments. Ally then placed 2nd at [[EVO 2009]] and [[S.N.E.S.]],falling to Mew2King and  {{Sm|ADHD}} respectively. At [[Pound 4]], Ally placed 3rd. Defeated by {{Sm|Ksizzle}}, he proceeded to make a lengthy Losers' run, defeating {{Sm|Seibrik}}, {{Sm|Havok}}, {{Sm|Shadow}}, and Ksizzle, before losing to Mew2King. In contrast, Ally defeated Mew2King at [[WHOBO 2]], and placed 1st.

===At the Height of ''[[Brawl]]''===

Despite his prior win on Mew2King, Ally placed 2nd at both [[MLG Orlando 2010]] and [[MLG Columbus 2010]], losing to Mew2King both times. Ally then notably attended European tournament [[Bushido Brawl Impact]], placing 2nd. He defeated {{Sm|Kaos}} and {{Sm|Glutonny}}, but would ultimately be double eliminated by Glutonny. Returning to North America, at [[Apex 2010]], Ally would place 5th, losing to {{Sm|Brood}}, then defeating {{Sm|Anti}} and {{Sm|RAIN}} before being eliminated by Mew2King. He was eliminated early at [[MLG Raleigh 2010]], by Havok, placing 17th. Ally placed 8th at [[MLG DC 2010]], falling to {{Sm|ESAM}}. In November of 2010, at [[MLG Dallas 2010]], the final tournament of the MLG 2010 circuit, Ally placed 4th, being eliminated by {{Sm|Tyrant}}.

At [[Pound V]], Ally took 1st. Following a loss to ESAM, Mew2King would forfeit to him in Losers', and he proceeded to defeat {{Sm|Gnes}}, ADHD, ESAM, Seibrik, and double eliminate ANTi. He then proceeded to win [[WHOBO 3]], defeating {{Sm|Dojo}} and {{Sm|UltimateRazer}}. At [[GENESIS 2]], Ally placed 2nd, initially losing to ADHD, before beating {{Sm|Zex}}, Gnes, and ADHD, before falling to Mew2King.

At the first tournament of the new year, [[Apex 2012]], currently the largest ''SSBB'' tournament of all time, Ally placed 5th. He defeated Brood and UltimateRazer, before losing to {{Sm|Otori}} and {{Sm|Nietono}}. Ally repeated his 5th place placement at {{b|SKTAR|tournament}}, defeating {{Sm|DKwill}}, {{Sm|Dabuz}}, and {{Sm|Mr. R}}, before losing to ESAM and {{Sm|Vinnie}}. He would be unable win his third WHOBO tournament, placing 2nd at [[WHOBO 4]]. After barely losing to {{Sm|Atomsk}} early in winners' bracket, he then eliminated Seibrik, {{Sm|Nick Riddle}}, DKwill, Atomsk, Gnes before falling to ESAM.

Following that, Ally attended [[Apex 2013]], placing 13th. He fell to {{Sm|Mikeneko}} early, defeated {{Sm|Pwii}}, then lost to Dabuz. He would later win [[IMPULSE 2013]], defeating Dabuz. Then, he'd place 9th at [[SKTAR 2]], upset by {{Sm|MVD}}, and defeated by ESAM. In 2013, Ally began playing ''Project M'' entering Singles at [[KTAR 8]], placing 2nd, defeating {{Sm|Rolex}} before falling to Mew2King. In ''Brawl'' Singles, he placed 4th, defeating {{Sm|Nairo}}, before losing to Mew2King. He then eliminated Mr.R before losing to {{Sm|Nakat}}.

At [[Apex 2014]], Ally placed 5th in ''Brawl'' Singles. He lost to {{Sm|ZeRo}}, and then eliminated {{Sm|Seagull Joe}} and Tyrant, before being eliminated himself by Mew2King. In ''PM'' Singles, he placed 7th, losing to {{Sm|Sethlon}}. In ''Brawl'' Singles at [[SKTAR 3]], Ally placed 5th, defeating Nairo, before once again losing to ESAM. He was then eliminated by ZeRo 0-2 in losers' quarters. Ally traveled to Mexico to attend [[Smash Factor 3]]. Not much is known aside that he placed 3rd in ''Project M'' singles, losing to {{Sm|MkLeo}} in losers finals.

===The Switch to ''[[Smash 4]]''===

Ally's first recorded ''[[SSB4]]'' tournament was [[Smash Intensifies]], to which he won, defeating {{Sm|Chrim Foish}} in grand finals. In December of 2014, Ally won [[The Come Up]], the Canadian qualifier for [[Apex 2015]], without dropping a single set, defeating {{Sm|Mew2King}}, {{Sm|Nakat}}, and DKwill. He was later invited to the [[CLASH Online Invitational Finals]], where he placed 7th, losing to {{Sm|Zucco}} and ANTi. He would then win both [[The Flex Zone]] and [[Neo Canadia 5]] defeating {{Sm|Dabuz}} and {{Sm|NAKAT}} for both respective tournaments.

At Apex 2015 he lost to Vinnie in pools. In losers he defeated {{Sm|Plup}}, {{Sm|Zinoto}}, and Vinnie in a rematch before falling to {{Sm|Nietono}} and {{Sm|aMSa}}. 
In March 2015, Ally won [[Shots Fired]], a national tournament held in Easton, Pennsylvania. Ally lost to [[6WX]] in winners semis, but made it to grand finals and bested {{Sm|Nairo}} to win the torunament. At [[LAN WAR X]] Ally was upset by {{Sm|Red X}} in winners, but went on to defeat {{Sm|HolyNightmare}} twice to win the tournament. At [[Enthusiast Gaming Live]] he took 2nd place after defeating {{Sm|Blacktwins}} and Meekspeedy, he lost to Holy twice in grand finals. Ally would then win both [[Shuffle VII]] and [[Smash 'N' Splash]] against {{Sm|Zinoto}} and {{Sm|ScAtt}}. At [[EXP 2015]] Ally defeated {{Sm|Astro}}, and {{Sm|Poke}} to make it to winners finals, but placed 3rd after being defeated by V115 and Poke. At [[EVO 2015]], Ally placed 5th, after beating {{Sm|StaticManny}} to advance to Top 8 on the losers side, then defeating {{Sm|ESAM}} but lost to {{Sm|Mr. R}}. At [[Low Tier City 3]] Ally defeated {{Sm|Dakpo}}, {{Sm|Kamicario}} and {{Sm|Denti}} before being sent to losers by {{Sm|ZeRo}} in winners finals. In losers he defeated {{Sm|Zenyou}} before being eliminated by ZeRo again. [[Summit 2015]] would be Ally's next 1st place finish after he defeating {{Sm|Trulliam}}, {{Sm|Iceninja}}, {{Sm|SpaceDong}}, {{Sm|Poke}} and {{Sm|Holy}}. At [[Paragon Los Angeles 2015]] Ally defeated {{Sm|Jonny Westside}} before being sent to losers by {{Sm|Shaky}}. In losers he defeated {{Sm|Pink Fresh}}, {{Sm|Z}}, Dakpo, {{Sm|Zex}}, {{Sm|Larry Lurr}}, {{Sm|6WX}} and Mr. R  before losing to Dabuz and finishing in 4th place. Ally then traveled to Japan for [[Umebura F.A.T.]] where he placed 7th after beating {{Sm|Gomamugitya}}, {{Sm|Umeki}}, and {{Sm|Nyanko}} before being eliminated by {{Sm|9B}}. In October, he attended Smashfield weeklies #9, at the weekly he defeated {{Sm|Ksev}}, {{Sm|MVD}}, and {{Sm|MJG}} before losing to {{Sm|ESAM}} in winners finals. In losers he defeated {{Sm|Abadango}} and ESAM in both sets of grand finals to win the tournament. At [[The Big House 5]] he defeated {{Sm|JJROCKETS}} to make it into Top 32. In Top 32 he lost to {{Sm|ANTi}} in winners eights and dropped to losers where he defeated {{Sm|Ryo}} before losing to {{Sm|ZeRo}} through the losers bracket to finish at 13th. 2 weeks later, at [[MLG World Finals 2015]], he defeated {{Sm|Demitus}} to advance into the championship bracket winners side. In bracket he defeated {{Sm|False}} and {{Sm|Mr. R}} before lost to ZeRo again in winners semis. In losers he defeated {{Sm|TheReflexWonder}} before being eliminated by Nairo, placing 4th. To finish out the month, he won [[Canada Cup 2015]]. Ally's last win for the year would be at [[Smash INTENSIFIES 2]] after defeating Holy. 

===Continued Dominance===

Ally attended [[Dismantle 2]] where he defeated {{Sm|Ned}} before upsetted by {{Sm|DKwill}}. In losers bracket he defeated {{Sm|Zinoto}} , {{Sm|Vinnie}} and DKwil before being eliminated by {{Sm|Nairo}} and finished 3rd. At [[GENESIS 3]], Ally made it to winners quarters after beating {{Sm|Xaltis}}, {{Sm|SlayerZ}} and {{Sm|Shaky}}, but lost to {{Sm|Ranai}} and Nairo to finish at 9th place. At [[Frosty Faustings VIII]] Ally defeated Ned and {{Sm|JJROCKETS}} to make another 1st place finish. In February, Ally won [[Oh, Did I Win? 2]] by defeating {{Sm|LOE1}}, Zinoto and {{Sm|V115}}. Ally then went to [[Frostbite]] taking out JJROCKETS, {{Sm|Ksev}}, Ned and Zinoto. At [[Landlocked]] he was upsetted by {{Sm|Ryuga}}. In losers he lost to {{Sm|Dabuz}} ending at 4th place. To end the month, Ally went to Breakout 2 where he defeated {{Sm|Blacktwins}} and LOE1 before barely losing to Zinoto. In losers he eliminated {{Sm|SETHsational}} and reset the bracket against Zinoto but lost the second set. In March 2016, he attended the national tournament [[Shots Fired 2]] where he lost to {{Sm|ANTi}} and placed 9th. He then attended [[Midwest Mayhem]], a bracket reset by Mr. R in grands but Ally won the tournament in the second set. He would then enter [[OUTFOXX'D]] where he beat JJROCKETS and Zinoto  before falling to Mr. R twice, granting him a 2nd place finish. Ally would later travel to Virginia for [[Pound 2016]] where in winners quarters he was sent to losers by {{Sm|VoiD}}. He was eliminated by {{Sm|Abadango}} in grand finals. At [[EGLX]], he fell to Mew2King in winners semis. In losers quarters, he defeated Mew2king in the runback. He placed 2nd at that tournament by losing to Nairo. At [[NEW FISH]] he defeated {{Sm|Dark Wizzy}} and Marss before falling to Larry Lurr. He was later eliminated by Larry Lurr.

At [[Get On My Level 2016]], Ally placed 1st, becoming the second person in Smash 4 history to eliminate ZeRo, defeating him 3-2 in grand finals. About a month later, he won [[Smash 'N' Splash 2]], double-eliminating ZeRo in grand finals, making him the first player ever to eliminate ZeRo twice. These two wins began an extended period in which he was the only player who could consistently defeat the world's #1 player, and he became one of the closest challengers yet for the title of best in the world. His most illustrious tournament win came at [[EVO 2016]], he defeated {{Sm|Kamemushi}} in grand finals and received the title '''EVO champion'''. At [[Clutch City Clash]], he was double eliminated by {{Sm|Samsora}} and placing 3rd. [[Super Smash Con 2016]] was the summer's last major event. He would lose to {{Sm|6WX}} in pools but made it to top 8 through the losers bracket by beating ZeRo again for the 4th time that year. He then beat {{Sm|Abadango}} but eventually lost to VoiD to finish at 5th. He later travelled to Rio de Janeiro to compete in the [[Rio de Janeiro eGames Showcase 2016|eGames Showcase 2016]], going through the winners bracket uncontested, beating {{Sm|Wabz}}, Larry Lurr and MkLeo without dropping a game. In grand finals, he faced off again against Larry Lurr to win the tournament. On August 18th, 2016, Ally was signed on by [[Cloud 9]] as their second ''Smash'' player after {{Sm|Mang0}}. At [[The Big House 6]], he was upsetted in pools by {{Sm|WaDi}}. At {{Trn|Canada Cup 2016}}, Ally's third encounter with MkLeo in tournament. They met in winners finals, where Ally had the upper hand, but in grand finals, Leo reset the bracket and won the event. At LAN WAR X 2016, Ally took the tournament beating {{Sm|Venom}}, {{Sm|Chrim Foish}}, and Venom in grand finals. At [[UGC Smash Open]] Ally lost  to {{Sm|iStudying}} in pools, he later falling to {{Sm|Nairo}} and ending his run at 9th place. One week later at [[Showdown: Battle Royale]] Ally fell to {{Sm|Mr. R}} en route to top 8. He was later eliminated by Mr. R again and finishing in 3rd. He ended 2016 with [[2GGT: ZeRo Saga]], he was falling to {{Sm|Larry Lurr}} and he was eliminated by MkLeo finishing at 5th place. At [[Midwest Mayhem 6: SoCal Invasion]], Ally was defeated by Tyroy in winners bracket. Later, he was defeated by {{Sm|Shoyo James}} and finished at 7th place. Due to Ally's constant success and dominance, he was ranked 2nd on the PGR V2.

At [[GENESIS 4]], he narrowly defeated {{Sm|ZeRo}} with ZeRo using Cloud, but then lost to MkLeo twice, placing 2nd. In February 2017, Ally attended [[Midwest Mayhem 7: Mexico Invasion]] where he lost to Tyroy in winners quarters. In losers, he was eliminated by {{Sm| Javi (Smash 4)}} and finished in 5th place. Ally was then invited to Niconico Tokaigi 2017, where he defeated {{Sm|9B}} before falling to {{Sm|Nairo}} and {{Sm|Dabuz}}, ultimately finished 9th at the event. At [[Frostbite 2017]], Ally was upset by Komota's Kirby in his pool, but still managed to qualify for top 48 losers. After beating {{Sm|Ranai}}, {{Sm|MVD}}, {{Sm|KEN}}, {{Sm|Kirihara}} and {{Sm|Kameme}}, he lost to {{Sm|Shuton}} at the beginning of losers top 8, placing 7th. In March of 2017, Ally would attend [[Super Smash Geek 6]], the [[Midwest Mayhem 8: North American Tour]] qualifier. He placed 1st, defeating {{Sm|Holy}} and double eliminating {{Sm|Blacktwins}}. Travelling to Arizona, Ally attended Rise 2017, placing 1st, defeating {{Sm|Saiki}}, {{Sm|Luhtie}}, {{Sm|ANTi}}, and {{Sm|Elegant}}. It would serve as a precursor for the following weekend, when he attended [[2GGC: Civil War]]. After defeating {{Sm|Vinnie}} to make it out of pools in top 96 winners, Ally lost to {{Sm|Locus}}. He then defeated {{Sm|Zenyou}} before losing to {{Sm|ESAM}}'s Samus at the beginning of top 32 losers, placing 25th. In April, Ally first win was at [[Welcome to the Oven]], defeating Blacktwins in both winners and grand finals. At Midwest Mayhem 8, Ally made top 8 winners after defeating {{Sm|Ksev}}, {{Sm|Shel}}, and {{Sm|JK}}. In top 8, he beat {{Sm|Locus}} but lost to {{Sm|Zinoto}} in winners finals. He was then eliminated by {{Sm|ZeRo}} in losers finals, placing 3rd. At [[DreamHack Austin 2017]], Ally defeated everyone he faced in pools and defeated {{Sm|Karna}} and {{Sm|CaptainZack}} each to make top 8 winners side. In top 8, he defeated ZeRo in winners semis but lost to MkLeo in winners finals. He then lost to ZeRo in a rematch in losers finals, placing 3rd. Ally went on to win [[2GGC: Greninja Saga]]. defeating {{Sm|Tyrant}}, {{Sm|Edge}}, {{Sm|Komorikiri}}, {{Sm|falln}}, and {{Sm|Larry Lurr}} twice, qualifying for the [[2GG Championship]] in December. At [[MomoCon 2017]], Ally made it out of pools in top 48 winners side. After barely defeating {{Sm|Wrath}} though, he lost to {{Sm|Kameme}} in winners quarters. After qualifying for losers top 8 by defeating Komorikiri, he then lost to {{Sm|VoiD}}, placing 7th. At [[Smash 'N' Splash 3]], Ally easily made top 8 winners, defeating {{Sm|Blacktwins}} and {{Sm|Mr.E}}. He then barely defeated {{Sm|Mr. R}} in winners semis and {{Sm|ZeRo}} in winners finals. However, in grand finals, Ally lost to ZeRo twice, placing 2nd, which ended his streak of winning Smash 'N' Splash tournaments. At [[2GGC: Nairo Saga]], Ally made top 8 winners, defeating {{Sm|Twi}}, {{Sm|FOW}}, {{Sm|JK}} and {{Sm|Abadango}} barely. He lost to MkLeo in winners semis and Salem in losers quarters, placing 5th. Ally ended up getting ranked 5th on the PGR v3.

===Decline===

At [[EVO 2017]], Ally was upset by {{Sm|Chanshu}} and {{Sm|MVD}}, placing at a disappointing 49th, his worst placing since [[CEO 2016]] over a year prior and a far cry from his win last year. At [[DreamHack Atlanta 2017]], Ally won in his pool and entered top 64 winners side. He immediately lost to VoiD. After defeating {{Sm|Sells}}, he lost to ZeRo again, placing 13th. Two weeks later, at [[Super Smash Con 2017]], Ally was upset again, this time by {{Sm|6WX}} and {{Sm|Darkshad}} in pools, placing 33rd. Ally would again place outside top 8 at [[2GGC: SCR Saga]], losing to MkLeo and CaptainZack, placing 9th. At [[Shine 2017]], he lost to MkLeo in winners quarters (notably counterpicking Diddy Kong game 2), he entered top 8 losers side after defeating {{Sm|Mistake}}. He defeated {{Sm|Komorikiri}}, but lost to {{Sm|Salem}} in losers quarters, placing 5th. Ally was invited to [[PAX Arena at PAX West 2017]], where he defeated everyone in his round robin pool except {{Sm|ZeRo}} whom he lost to, to be seeded in winners quarters of the final bracket. After defeating {{Sm|ANTi}}, he lost to {{Sm|Nairo}} and Salem, placing 4th. At [[GameTyrant Expo 2017]], Ally was upset by {{Sm|Elegant}} in pools. He then lost to Larry Lurr in losers, placing 25th. Ally would later go on to [[The Big House 7]], where he defeated {{Sm|Marss}} in pools and lost to {{Sm|Mr.R}}, facing against {{Sm|MattyG}}, {{Sm|Mr E}}, and {{Sm|komorikiri}}. In top 8, he would face {{Sm|Marss}} again but eventually lost, ending his run at 7th place. A month later, Ally attended {{Trn|Canada Cup 2017}}, Ally cruised through pools and top 32 in a dominant fashion where he didn't drop a single game. He would however lose to {{Sm|Larry Lurr}} and {{Sm|Lima}} in top 8, ending his run at 5th place. Ally's last tournament of the season was [[2GG Championship]] where he defeated {{Sm|Tweek}} and {{Sm|WaDi}}, but lost to {{Sm|VoiD}} allowing him to Qualify for the Playoff group. Although he managed to defeat {{Sm|Nairo}}, he lost to {{Sm|Salem}}, {{Sm|Dabuz}}, and {{Sm|Elegant}} placing 9th. Due to his declining results, Ally was ranked 14th on the PGR V4, much lower than his former seasons.

The following year, Ally went to {{Trn|GENESIS 5}} where he defeated {{Sm|BestNess}} and Darkshad and respectivly. In top 32, he beat {{Sm|Tamushika}} but narroly lost to {{Sm|Salem}} and {{Sm|Falln}} placing 9th. Ally then traveled to Japan to attend Niconico Tokagi 2018 where he defeated {{Sm|shky}} but lost to Larry Lurr and MkLeo finishing at 9th place. At [[EGLX 2018]], Ally cruised through pools without dropping a game, and in top 32, he defeated {{Sm|ANTi}} and upsetted {{Sm|Mr.R}} allowing him to qualify for top 8 winners. However, he was defeated by {{Sm|Tweek}} and Mistake placing 5th. Ally later attended [[Smash Masters League: Battle for Vegas]] where he lost to {{Sm|Brosinex}} in pools. He defeated {{Sm|Technicals}} and {{Sm|Konga}} before falling to {{Sm|Fatality}} ending his run at 13th place. Ally underperformed at his next tournament [[Get On My Level 2018]] as he failed to make it out of pools. He lost to {{Sm|Lima}} and {{Sm|SDX}}  placing at 25th place. His next national was [[Smash 'N' Splash 4]] where he lost to BONK! early in pools. However, he made an impressive losers run defeating {{Sm|Chag}}, {{Sm|Gackt}}, CaptainZack, and Mistake before narroly falling to {{Sm|Rags}}ending his run at 13th place. At [[Hyrule Saga]], Ally defeated CaptainZack in pools before losing to {{Sm|Abadango}} and {{Sm|Tweek}} finishing at 17th place. Ally failed to achieve a single top 8 at a major event for the 5th season, resulting in him getting 33rd on the PGR V5. Ally also stated that he didn't care that much about trying to get a high placing on the PGR due to the release of Smash Ultimate. Ally's first tournament for the final season was [[Showdown: Battle Royale 3]], defeating Darkshad after cruising through pools without dropping a single game, however he lost to CaptainZack. He managed to defeat {{Sm|Infinity|p=Ontario}} in a close set, allowing him to qualify to top 8 losers. However he lost to {{Sm|Samsora}} placing 7th. Ally would later go on to attend [[EVO 2018]]. In pools, he defeated {{Sm|komorikiri}} and defeated {{Sm|JK}}. In top 32 winners, he lost to Mistake. He then defeated {{Sm|Salem}} in a close set but lost to {{Sm|Elegant}}, ending his run at 13th place. Ally got his lowest placement yet at [[Super Smash Con 2018]] where he lost to {{Sm|Ralphie}} in pools. Due to a lack of motivation, he DQ'd after the loss placing 65th. Ally then competed at [[DreamHack Montreal 2018]], and defeated {{Sm|MVD}} in winners semis. In winners finals, Ally lost to {{Sm|Larry Lurr}} in a close set, and play against {{Sm|MVD}} again in losers finals, but eventually lost to {{Sm|Larry Lurr}} in grand finals, with a 2nd place finish. Ally's final Smash 4 tournament was [[Canada Cup 2018]], where he competed against {{Sm|ANTi}} and {{Sm|THUNDER}}. Although hemanaged to defeat the latter, he lost to {{Sm|ANTi}}. He defeated {{Sm|Jayy}} allowing him to qualify to top 8 losers, but lost to {{Sm|Mr E}}'s Lucina, ending his run at 7th place.

Ally came into ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate'' by returning to being a Snake main from ''Brawl''. His early results in ''Ultimate'' were somewhat mediocre, placing 25th at {{Trn|GENESIS 6}} and 49th at {{Trn|Frostbite 2019}}, the first two S-tiers of ''Ultimate''. However, he would later see a return to form and saw much more success at tournaments such as 5th place at {{Trn|2GG: Prime Saga}}, 3rd at {{Trn|CEO 2019}} and {{Trn|Smash 'N' Splash 5}}, and won his first major at {{Trn|Pound 2019}}. These results were enough to get Ally ranked 6th, albeit unofficially, on the [[Spring 2019 PGRU]].

==Retirement and ban==

On July 3rd, 2019, Ally retired from Smash Bros. tournament play following increased scrutiny towards his former relationship with {{Sm|CaptainZack}}.

This relationship first became a subject of discussion on March 22, 2019, due to allegations made by {{Sm|tamim}} on Twitter. However, at the time, CaptainZack apparently had access to tamim's account, and deleted these tweets. On March 23, 2019, CaptainZack replied to a tweet asking him to clarify whether he and Ally had engaged in a sexual relationship, stating, "nothing ever happened even close to that". On June 29, 2019, however, CaptainZack tweeted and later deleted a photo of himself holding a postcard up to his face with "Tamim was telling the truth." written on it.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.dexerto.com/smash/smash-pro-ally-retires-after-admitting-to-dating-16-year-old-775901|title="Smash pro Ally retires after admitting to lying about dating 16-year-old" - Dexerto}}</ref> At the time of their relationship, CaptainZack, born 2001, was 16 years old; Ally, born 1991, was 27.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.dexerto.com/smash/smash-ally-statement-sexual-harassment-allegations-1620094/|title="Former Smash pro Ally speaks out on past sexual misconduct allegations" - Dexerto}}</ref> A month later, a Twitter account going by "The Truth" with the username "@SmashBrosTruth" tweeted that CaptainZack had forced Ally into the relationship and had blackmailed Ally to drop sets against {{Sm|Zackray}} and {{Sm|Nairo}} at {{Trn|2GG: Prime Saga}} and {{Trn|MomoCon 2019}}, respectively. CaptainZack confirmed the latter half hours later.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/SmashBrosTruth/status/1157070865189789696|title=The Truth's statement}}</ref>

Following Ally's retirement, [[Panda Global]]'s PG Stats team announced an internal evaluation, with the possibility of removing him from the upcoming [[Panda Global Rankings Ultimate|PGRU]].<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/ThePGstats/status/1146788729564139521|title=PGStats via Twitter.}}</ref> While it was eventually decided that he would be given a place on the PGRU, they opted to omit him from the X-Factor survey, list only his ranking and placement without a player card or blurb, and skip over him on the PGRU SmashCenter podcast on Twitch.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://www.redbull.com/us-en/pgru-spring-2019-10-1|title=Ally included on the PGRU}}</ref> At the same time, the Harassment Task Force announced that a statement had been delivered to tournament organizers advising a lifetime ban from competition for Ally.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/SSBConductPanel/status/1147143409448214529|title=SSBConductPanel via Twitter.}}</ref> The degree to which this ban applies, however, is controversial. In addition to the CaptainZack case, Ally has also been accused of assault by his ex-girlfriend. This accusation was factored in when issuing his ban.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/allyornotally/status/1147189876166672384|title=Ally's girlfriend on the ban}}</ref>

On January 23, 2020, Montreal Gaming Center announced that Ally would be returning to competitive play at Friday Night Smash #57 <ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/MTLGamingCentre/status/1220885621117460480?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet|title=Announcement of Ally's "return" at FNS 57}}</ref>. The announcement was met with much controversy, with most upset at his return. After winning the local, he was interviewed by {{Sm|EE}}, where he revealed that he stopped playing ''Ultimate'' for 3 to 4 months following his retirement and sought out therapy. He plans to continue competing locally, but is unsure of how or if he will ever return to competing at the national level. As a result of mistakes made by the Harassment Task Force during their initial evaluation of Ally's situation, the case was reviewed with newer evidence. On May 14th, 2020, the Task Force decided to leave the recommendation standing. <ref>{{cite web|url=https://twitter.com/SSBConductPanel/status/1261047524607111168|title=Task Force's second investigation}}</ref>

In February 2021, Ally would post a [https://youtu.be/ttK0x4-rP5Q YouTube video]{{Dead link}} discussing several topics, where he would state that his ex-girlfriend abused him throughout the relationship and would maintain the notion that he never abused her. He would also reaffirm the claim that Zack manipulated him while he was in a low mental health situation and used this as an opportunity to blackmail him, and that he never abused him as well.
