SmashWiki talk:Project
Possible full-size projects:
- The Origin Project: An expanded version of the item origin, stage origin, etc. things you've already seen, this project would be dedicated to improving these sections on histories of things in Smash and standardizing the coverage of them.
- The Smasher Project (1.1): Working to go through Smasher namespace articles, one-by-one, and determining which ones meet the requirements for notability and bringing those articles up-to-date.
- The Tournament/Crew Project: Checking all tournament and crew articles (which, keep in mind, are in the mainspace) for notability and standardization of coverage.
- The Testing Projects:
- The Enemy Health Project: A project based on Toomai's work to determine the HP values for all SSE enemies and bosses on various difficulty levels.
- The Hitbox Project: Another Toomai-led project to dissect the innermost workings of Brawl's combat engine.
Please help me come up with what else needs to get done, and let's get going! Miles (talk) 16:17, 13 November 2010 (EST)
Projects[edit]
We need to make more of them Poultry(talk) the Pumpkin Pie 18:02, 12 March 2016 (EST)
- I'd like to see some projects here, too. Does anyone have any ideas? BaconMasterLuck o' the Irish. 18:04, 12 March 2016 (EST)
Bumping this by bringing up how a lot of the fair use files could be changed to use the {{license-screenshot}} template. After all, the template states, "a screenshot or other piece of media from a copyrighted video game." Wouldn't this include a vast number of these; and could this mass edit be considered a "project"? New project idea: Good articles category[edit]
I suggest a new tag, similar to the Featured category, which would be assigned to articles of high and well written quality that are good examples of an article. A featured article would be the best of the best of the wiki, but a good page would be an example to start at if/when a new editor is beginning to edit or create a new article. - First, this is not the place to propose things, we have a proposal forum for that. Secondly, "good articles" is something that works for Wikipedia, when it has millions of articles and so will only ever be able to daily feature a fraction of the "good articles". But for SmashWiki, that has a fraction of the articles that Wikipedia has, and a fraction of that fraction that I think are comprehensively complete articles with no glaring errors? That's a hard pass. Not to mention that featured content has been largely neglected by the userbase as is even after my attempted revival of it last year (while before that, the wiki didn't have a new featured article for years), and that many of the featured articles in the past aren't the wiki's "best of the best" content nor would even deserve a "good article" label (e.g. Ganondorf (SSBB) had no business being featured and was only done so by an old admin to spite me and another user for our reworking of the priority article that he didn't like becoming the most supported article for being featured), so adding another layer to the feature system at this time is an absolute no go.
