The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

Wavedashing[edit]

Now that Kazuya is in smash, we can no longer ignore that the wavedash originated in tekken, not melee. With that said, should we move wavedash in to general terms section? The Other Jared (talk) 16:06, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

The Tekken wavedash and the Smash wavedash don't have too much in common. It should stay in the Smash section of the glossary with maybe a short mention of Kazuya once it is explained how Tekken crouch dashes were implemented in Smash. Rdrfc (talk) 17:16, June 22, 2021 (EDT)

Fanbase-Centric Glossary[edit]

The first two thing that came to my mind are "Anime Swordsman" and "Cereal Mascot". Despite of their nature. these deserve to be mentioned. XeroSchnee20 (talk) 16:15, June 29, 2023 (EDT)

Much of the terms throughout the glossary are already fan terms, so there's no need for a separate "fanbase-centric" section. As for those two terms; "Anime Swordsman" has little applicable purposes that makes it worth defining here, something like "Swordie" is a much more applicable term, and I don't even know what you mean by "Cereal Mascot", that's absolutely not a term I see at all used within a Smash context. Cereal Mascot is a term to refer forgotten cartoony characters from old video games (mostly platformers like Crash or Banjo) with cult followings. it was some sort of weird insult towards people who wanted Banjo-Kazooie. Nowadays, the slang was replaced with "Scrimblo Bimblo the Loveable Scrunko" in which translated to "Any video game character with a cartoony design. Old or new, Famous or Niche, animal or not, it doesn't matter what genre came from". It came from a Twitter post (which also spawned the "Popular McRPGguy"). "Cereal Mascot is a term to refer forgotten cartoony characters from old video games (mostly platformers like Crash or Banjo) with cult followings."
That is absolutely not any sort of Smash-relevant term, and putting shit like this in the glossary would bloat it to hell with useless "terminology". Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:47, June 29, 2023 (EDT)
