Notices
The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters.
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted.

SmashWiki:Requests for adminship/McAusten

McAusten (talkcontribsedit countRFA page)[edit]

Candidate, please summarize why you are running for adminship below.
I nominate myself to be an admin because I believe that I can improve the wiki by being able to delete unnecessary pages, by blocking users (including IP addresses) in order to prevent vandalism and that I am trustworthy, reliable and that I can make tough decisions if I have too! I can also protect pages if need be. McAusten (talk) 23:16, 12 December 2011 (EST)

Oppose[edit]

  1. Creating an account just to try to get adminship is one of many things wrong here. You don't just create a RFA, you have to prove yourself a valuable editor who is good with the community before you can, and this is not getting you off to a good start. Being an admin is not all about deleting and blocking and protecting, you know. Total Oppose BlindColours Boing.png 23:22, 12 December 2011 (EST)
  2. Strong Oppose You've just created an account, and your first edit is to request adminship? Adminship is granted to users after they have proven that they can contribute to the wiki. If you look at successful Rfas, all of the users who have passed have long track records of contribution. Mousehunter321 (talk · contributions) 23:24, 12 December 2011 (EST)
  3. Request for Immediate Closure: You're supposed to edit, become a trusted member of the community, show you'd be a good candidate and then run for adminship. You started with the final step. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 23:26, 12 December 2011 (EST)
  4. Strong, unmoving oppose. I won't delve into your lack of a name here as other before me have, but from a pragmatic standpoint, this Wiki doesn't need anymore admins, bcrats or much of else really; We have five users that have admin rights and eight who have rollback rights, and seeing the current size and interest in this Wiki, I see no reason for a sixth, and even then, there are plenty of users here who are more trusted and more well-known than you who I'd much rather see Admin rights be granted to. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 23:53, 12 December 2011 (EST)
  5. We finally get a proper RfA made, and it's by a newbie as their very first edit... Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 05:55, 13 December 2011 (EST)
