The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Forum:Bot
I think it's about time SmashWiki got a bot. I'll give my example of why I believe it's necessary. Wiktionary gives this definition for the word "song" - A short musical composition with lyrics for voice or voices, performed by singing. Par a few Wario & Sonic tracks, the music pieces in the Smash Bros. series are not songs. They are either music pieces or music tracks. Yet the word song is used to describe music tracks all over SmashWiki. Changing all of these manually would be an arduous task, but would be easy with a bot. Below, I'd like you to show your support, or give a reason to oppose, and maybe suggest a name for the bot as well. Toast ltimatum

- A bot would be helpful for changing the links for the stages since they have been renamed. Read my comment below. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 12:27, 7 January 2012 (EST)
Oppose[edit]
- Bots would be very difficult to create and honestly wouldn't be that useful. It isn't a very big deal whether we should use the proper term for some music tracks; I'm pretty sure the Dojo calls them "songs" at one point, as does Brawl itself. Mr. Anon

Comments[edit]
Your current reasoning lacks. While it's not technically correct I don't see why calling them "songs" is enough of a problem to do something about. I recognize having a bot might be useful in the future but as for the present time I don't see much use for it. Toomai Glittershine The Different 17:10, 17 December 2011 (EST)

- It might as well be fixed, as it would just be a matter of inputting one command to a bot, and the problem is solved. And like you said, it could most definitely be useful for other things in the future. Toast

Stage renaming[edit]
I've noticed a couple of users renaming the stage links on articles en masse. This does take a lot of effort and if we had a bot account, this renaming could be done faster and with less effort. I am willing to set the bot up if given permission to do so if the admins are up for it that is. I've got both AWB and Pywikipediabot installed and have experience with each of them. I could set this going easily if just given the go ahead. The Solar Dragon (Talk - Contribs.) 12:25, 7 January 2012 (EST)
