Bump[edit]
Those pages won't delete themselves. BNK [E|T|C] 20:29, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Can't you be patient? Those articles were only tagged an hour ago and a redirect would be more suitable in this case than a deletion. Omega Tyrant 20:38, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Not really; the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams are mentioned nowhere in any Super Smash Bros. game unless you count descriptions, and the astronomical unlikelihood that someone would resort here to look up information on said teams is something to consider as well. The teams don't have trophies nor do they have stickers, so again, a redirect wouldn't do much good. If we were to make redirects for those pages, we might as well also make ones for "DK Crew" because it's mentioned in a song that appears in Melee and Brawl. BNK [E|T|C] 20:44, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
- The reason for the redirect would be for their role in the smash taunts. As such, the DK crew only has a mention in a song while the Star Fox and Star Wolf teams have smash taunts that revolves around them (each member of both teams also have a trophy as well, unlike the DK crew). It is entirely plausible someone will search for them and having a smash taunt based on them is enough of a reason to create a redirect to the smash taunt article instead of complete deletion. It is an "astronomical unlikelihood" that someone will search for Eggplant Man, yet it has a redirect because it appears as a trophy and therefore it is notable enough to be searchable. The Star Fox and Star Wolf teams appear in the Smash Taunts, which I believe makes them notable enough to be searchable on the Wiki, since the smash taunts themselves are more notable than individual trophies. Omega Tyrant 21:09, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
- 1) Eggplant Man is a trophy, so it isn't really an "astronomical unlikelihood"; you're using that term incorrectly.
- 2) The Star Fox team isn't mentioned at all during the conversations held when one performs the smash taunt, so there goes that statement.
- 3) It is still an "astronomical unlikelihood" that one would search for the team regardless, to be honest. BNK [E|T|C] 21:14, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Who is to say the fact that their name is never specifically mentioned is enough of a reason that no one will search for them? But this does not matter as you are wrong about the teams' names never being mentioned. Read the Star Fox Smash Taunt article. Both teams get their name specifically mentioned in some of the possible conversations. So there goes your statement of their team names never being mentioned in the conversations. Now for the likelihood of them being searched. I believe it would be more likely that someone would search for one of these teams than for a randomly obtainable trophy of an obscure Nintendo character. But just saying that a redirect is unlikely to be used is not enough of a reason to not create them as that reasoning is just based on speculation. Having the Star Fox Smash Taunts based on them certainly makes them notable enough to be searchable on this Wiki and creating two simple redirects that would each take up less than 100 bytes is only going to help the Wiki, even if it is by a minuscule amount. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand bump, unused images and the such. Smoreking (talk) 20:04, 14 June 2012 (EDT)
I've delinked the rest of the pics, so there shouldn't be anything stopping them from being deleted. The 75m one and the Zelda entrance one are redirects from their respective renames. --RoyboyX Talk 11:04, 10 March 2013 (EDT)
Another b-bump. --RoyboyX Talk 22:10, 25 March 2013 (EDT)
According to Toomai, the E4 redirects are for completed tournaments that should have articles but don't. --RoyboyX Talk 11:03, 1 April 2013 (EDT)
What's going on?[edit]
In the past week, I've noticed about ~30 or so entries in here from day to day. Where's all the images coming from? F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 18:27, 29 August 2015 (EDT)
- A few days ago it was a bunch of unused images tagged for deletion; right now it's unnecessary redirects from image moves. I'll clear 'em out at some point when the wiki is less active like overnight or something, so I don't clog Recent Changes midday. Miles (talk) 18:32, 29 August 2015 (EDT)
Why delete these?[edit]
These are practical Images of Alt Costumes in good Quality, why delete them? They can be used. I get that you can just use the image of all costumes in the "alternate costumes" section of the character Page, but these Images definetely also have a use.
Bump 2[edit]
There are currently 82 things tagged for speedy delete and some have been tagged since December 2021. --CanvasK (talk) 07:25, March 9, 2022 (EST)
Why are there random speedy deletes?[edit]
Why are there random speedy deletes on user pages that didn’t get tagged according to the page history? Thegameandwatch The Nerd 11:49, September 11, 2023 (EDT)
- It's because they're using SK's userbox via transclusion, which is marked for speedy deletion. I've been meaning to go through the speedy delete category, but whenever I do (assuming another admin doesn't beat me to it), I'll avoid those accidentally marked.
