Weekly in-game event: Original Class of '64

Nintendo announced that online support for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be ending on April 8th, 2024, meaning Super Smash Bros. 4 will no longer be playable online after that point.

14 January 2024: At KOWLOON 9 with Sumabato, Miya, Rarukun, and Asimo take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles.

9 January 2024: Nintendo of America announced the first new Spirit Event of the year coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, featuring Spirits of Rauru from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Noah and Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Deep Cut from Splatoon 3, and Oatchi and the captain from Pikmin 4, starting on January 12th and lasting five days.

8 January 2024: At Umebura SP 10, acola, Miya, and Glutonny take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles.
