Forum:Quality of life stuff
Ultimate has been out for over 2 years now. That's enough time to learn the game inside and out, as I'm sure plenty of you have already. You probably have categorized things into what you like and don't like. This is what this post is for. I want to here what quality of life aspects of ultimate, big or small, are aging poorly and how you think they can be improved. I'm not looking for debates, I just want to give people an opportunity to share their ideas. I also don't want to hear about anything specifically related to gameplay, as that would get toxic quickly. The Other Jared (talk) 19:29, January 12, 2021 (EST)
Ideas[edit]
I'll start. I would like more controller options programmed into the game without any workarounds. I would specifically like mouse & keyboard, arcade stick, and 3ds. You can already connect a usb keyboard to the switch, and smash flash already has the option, so I don't see much issue implementing it. Some people have been demanding arcade stick support for a while, and it might make ryu, ken and terry easier to use for some, so I see it as a good idea. As for 3ds, make the app that connects it to wiiu free and update it to be compatible with ultimate for the few people that want that. The Other Jared (talk) 19:29, January 12, 2021 (EST)
I'd love to see Ultimate revert to how something minor worked in Smash 4: the post-battle Gold counter. In 4, if memory serves me right, you had to press the A button once, and it showed how much Gold that battle earned you. This number stayed visible until the final or first-to-last A button press on the Results screen. In Ultimate, you have to press the A button once and stop, because pressing it again will permanently hide the number of Gold earned. Unlike how the rest of the Results screen works, you can't press the B button to return to the Gold count slide. This mechanic makes it really hard to determine just how much in-game currency a match has netted you, and it worked better in a previous installment. Why was this change made in "Ultimate"?
