Template:Infobox Final Smash

Aura Storm is Lucario's Final Smash, a powerful beam attack. After saying "Watch the power of Aura!", Lucario flies to the top of the screen in the center of the stage. Any character in the way takes minor damage if they are farther away, but a lot more when up close. It also spikes with a set but high knockback when used up close. Lucario then holds its hands above its head as it readies the attack, before launching a large beam of Aura downwards. The attack hits multiple times before a big finisher that has decent KO power. Lucario can angle the beam sideways during both the windup and the launch, which is a decent way to catch unhit enemies, although angling can also free trapped targets (which otherwise cannot escape). The move is one of the more difficult Final Smashes to use effectively,as flying or floating characters; or characters with a great recovery as may be able to easily outrun the beam, while other characters can manage to dodge most of the attack depending on the stage.

As Aura Storm is an Aura-based attack, it has greater power and knockback if Lucario is at high damage. At 170% it does 78% if properly executed and is a One-Hit KO against most characters. Under extreme circumstances, Aura Storm can do 128% damage and a One-Hit KO against all characters unless they have something to tech against. Even doing this is extremely difficult because of the speed of the knockback. This makes it the most damaging Final Smash in the game and is just as dangerous as Marth's Critical Hit because it is a certain KO at 0%. The criteria to do this much damage is when there are at least three people fighting, in last place, behind the leader by two stocks, and at 170% damage.

Origin

"Aura Storm" is not an actual attack in the Pokémon series. However the attack resembles the Hyper Beam, a powerful move that most evolved Pokémon can use, including Deoxys and Lucario itself.

Trophy Description

Lucario's Final Smash. After flying off the screen, Lucario reappears in its center. It then launches a powerful Aura attack against all foes within a certain distance. The key to this attack is the ability to change its angle--it's a must sweep slowly left and right to hit selected enemies multiple times. The last blow will send the victim flying away.

Trivia

  • Many people have noticed that Lucario's final smash looks very similar to Goku's (the main character from the hit anime, Dragon Ball Z) signature move, the Kamehameha wave. Coincidentally, Lucario's voice actor in the Pokémon cartoon series prior to a contract expiration with 4Kids Entertainment is Sean Schemmel who also voices Goku in Dragon Ball Z.
