Hey can I ask, why doesn't this work in Brawl? If there's a reason, I think it should be added to the article and if the reason is unknown, it should be noted as well. ----- Conanshinichi 15:21, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

Simply because characters don't automatically stand up when hit by a weak attack. Instead they get laser locked. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Metroid 15:23, 13 July 2013 (EDT)
Ok should I add it to the article then? ----- Conanshinichi 15:27, 13 July 2013 (EDT)
Of course Scr7Wolfsig.png 15:29, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

The mechanics are a bit different, but the technique of jabbing a knocked down opponent to force them to getup still exists in Brawl, as characters will do an automatic getup after going through the flopping animation. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:42, 13 July 2013 (EDT)

video

i dont think that video is showing a jab reset. jab resets work on opponent who are in "lying down" state. it looks as though this peach is being jabbed as they are flying away, not otg. i'll make a gif for this today. DJLO (talk) 11:25, 26 September 2013 (EDT)

Wake up animation

I remember reading that there are 2 wake up animations :one for getting up after the time limit or pressing "up", and one for being jabbed. One of them had invincibility and the other doesn't, I think we have the wrong one shown in the gallery —Preceding unsigned comment added by DJLO (talkcontribs) 12:54, September 28, 2013 (CDT)

"Unlike a normal getup from knockdown, a jab reset induced getup does not have any invincibility frames." That's not true. Both animation give you a few frame of invincibility. I've just tested it myself to be sure.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.71.119.191 (talkcontribs) 10:24, June 7, 2014 (CDT)

Falco's laser

In Melee, if you do a short hop laser with Falco and it hits an opponent who missed a tech, it appears to force them to go through the standing up animation, in the same way as a jab reset. Is this considered the same thing? Here's an example: [1] Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 16:41, 22 July 2014 (EDT)

Merge

Weak support. While slightly different in how they work, most of the community treats these as one and the same. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 21:57, 3 July 2017 (EDT)
