The Pause glitch is a glitch in Super Smash Bros. that can be used in Break the Targets! and Board the Platforms. The glitch by itself is simple: by repeatedly pausing the game, one can "jam" the timer while still being able to move their character, gaining a maximum of 2 frames to control it between the pauses if done flawlessly. Through this glitch players can more easily achieve quicker clear times or even times that are humanly impossible, such as 0'00"00. Due to being a game breaking strategy to getting a faster time, runs using the glitch are discouraged and are not recognized on most leaderboards.
