2GGT is a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament series held on a monthly/bi-monthly basis, mainly in Southern California. First held in December 2015, it is organized and directed by Champ and the 2GGaming team. Each event is dedicated towards a particular player or a group of players that are flown out to compete. 2GGT is largely praised due to the overall efficiency and quality of the tournaments: despite many of them housing well over 300 entrants, singles, doubles and side events were hosted from start to finish in a single day with no time constraints. It has quickly grown in popularity since its inception, having hosted some of the largest tournaments for Smash 4 of all time.

On December 18th, 2016, following 2GGT: ZeRo Saga, tournament director and 2GG crew member Champ announced the rebranding of 2GGT as 2GGC, or 2GG Championship Series.

Trivia

  • 2GGT's namesake is a reference to Dragon Ball GT, and as such, its main logo is also inspired by it, and each event typically follows a "[featured player] Saga" nomenclature, much like Dragon Ball's own naming convention for each saga.
  • None of the featured players have managed to win their own saga as of yet. This is commonly referred to as the "saga curse". Three particularly ironic examples are Pink Fresh finishing at 17th place at his own saga but winning KTAR Saga 2 months after, MKLeo being unable to attend Mexico Saga but winning ZeRo Saga 6 months later and ZeRo, who won 4 separate sagas, yet placed 4th on his own. Here is each player's placement in their own saga:
    • Fatality Saga - 7th
    • ESAM Saga - 5th
    • The False Awakens - 2nd
    • EE Saga - 49th
    • FOW Saga - 4th
    • Fresh Saga - 17th
    • Mexico Saga - 4th (Hyuga, the best placing Mexican player)
    • KTAR Saga - 2nd (Marss, the best placing player out of everyone who was either from Tristate and/or a former KTAR winner)
    • Abadango Saga - 13th
    • ZeRo Saga - 4th
