Should skills/glitches/techniques really have the game title at the end of them? If the rhitorical answer is yes, then the wavedashing page should be wavedashing (SSBM). Can we have a quickie template update here? I vote no game title at the end of techniques. The SSB game that the technique is for could simply be in the opening introductory paragraph. I vote no game title too. It's easy to say that a technique is in SSBM exclusively, SSB exclusively, or both games (or Brawl, when it comes out). Just say something like "wavedashing is a technique in Melee that....," and for techniques like l-canceling we can articulate the differences between its SSB and SSBM usage. --MaskedMarth 17:38, January 10, 2007 (GMT)
Well, I added the (SSB) in there to avoid confusion since Mewtwo's Up B is also called "teleport" and Melee generally gets priority. --Greenblob 20:02, January 10, 2007 (GMT)
Good point. When/If Mewtwo's teleport gets an article, we would keep this article name but have the article teleport be a disambiguation page. For techniques without this type of confusion, though (like "wavedashing"), we don't need the (SSB) or (SSBM) label. --MaskedMarth 05:04, January 12, 2007 (GMT)

Picture[edit]

It'd be really nice if someone could make a small animation of the teleport. I don't have the right programs to do this.

Oh snap, this is already an AotW? If anyone can make animated gifs/jpgs/whatever, I can send you a higher quality version of a clip of the teleport. --Greenblob 04:27, April 17, 2007 (GMT)

Fox's Teleport[edit]

I find it curious that people have left out Fox's teleport which propels him two character lengths and can be useful for movement.

Unless it isn't a teleport and my eyes simply bugger out when I attempt it with a u-smash. o.O

I don't think Fox can teleport. How do you do it? It might be called something else. --Greenblob 18:22, September 22, 2007 (EDT)

uh[edit]

they never proved wavedash to be a technique intended for use. Kperfekt722 (talk) 04:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Name games[edit]

Wouldn't the title be better at "Teleport (glitch)"? Seeing as there's no "Teleport (SSBM)/(SSBB)", instead the only other article having said name is the move teleport. --Havoc'48 03:01, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Falcoport[edit]

I'm convinced I've successfully teleported with Captain Falcon a great many times now. I have even been able to slide off ledges in a manner identical to Jigglypuff, but oddly can only perform the teleport out of Falcon's dash dance. It works like a teleport in theory, but involves dash pivoting or dancing (not turning mid-dash) and then jumping... Can anyone replicate this? It usually only happens when I don't mean to, and I have no resources to complete a further analysis... More research may be needed but I wouldn't be surprised if a few more (even very minor) teleports are unearthed. If I can get information on the process or even frame data, I'll be happy to write the article a new section. Thanks, all. --Oasidu (talk) 00:21, 28 November 2013 (EST)

Can you provide a video of this? Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 09:57, 28 November 2013 (EST)
Sorry about the delay. Been kinda busy with life... Unfortunately i don't have a way to capture my screen directly (or for that matter a YT account, OR a way to upload videos), and since my only serious Smasher friend is at college, i don't have external or familiar resources with which to capture this phenomenon. I do believe that it happens with more characters than is generally accepted, such as Kirby and Falcon. I don't think they move nearly as far as the accepted trio but there have been pretty noticble, if extremely short jumps forward with a few characters, at least in my experience. I don't expect anyone to take me seriously but i would be doing the community a disservice if i didn't at least mention it. Thanks, cheers Oasidu (talk) 16:08, 16 April 2014 (EDT)
