One tooltip instead of two[edit]

It looks like this template is trying to put {{{2}}} as a tooltip on the image, by wrapping it in an outer <span title="{{{2}}}">. But it's also producing a different tooltip, the title of the linked article, on the inner link. This results in different browsers showing different tooltips. The template should probably make just one tooltip. Which of the two tooltips is better, {{{2}}}, or the title of the linked article? ライケン Rigel Kent (talk) 01:14, 10 July 2016 (EDT)

I would say output the page name... Cases that it will be any different from the parameter are rare anyway. Serpent SKSig.png King 01:21, 10 July 2016 (EDT)
It should output {{{2}}}, so that for buttons like ZL, it displays "ZL" and not "Z button". Toomai Glittershine ??? The Yellow 10:33, 10 July 2016 (EDT)
Why not have a page for the ZL and ZR buttons? Serpent SKSig.png King 10:40, 10 July 2016 (EDT)
Same reason we don't have different pages for each N64 C button: as far as Smash Bros. cares, they're redundant. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Irrepressible 08:02, 14 July 2016 (EDT)
