Source Gaming is an article-based website created by PushDustIn that began as a dedicated place for "going back to the source to investigate video games"[1] (pertaining almost entirely to the Smash Bros series at first). The site has made many Smash Bros community contributions. Since then, its purpose is to uncover and investigate anything pertaining to video game history, development, and origins. It is highly centered around Nintendo related subjects.
As per the name, the writers on the site try to have solid and trustworthy sources of information for articles. A variety of different people are part of the site and have collaborated with other prominent Smash community members. As for what the site has contributed, things such as translating text into English: Famitsu article columns with interviews of Masahiro Sakurai or the Japanese-only Melee official website, just to list a few. Perhaps the most noteworthy page is The Definitive Unused Fighters List, which corrected a lot of commonly held misconceptions within the Smash fanbase at the article's debut. They are notable for news as well, with many substantial news events happening related to Smash Bros being broke by the site including Alph being planned as a clone, and Geno getting into Brawl. The site was also responsible for the majority of the discoveries about Unused_content_(SSB4. Writers also do opinion articles on issues and content within the Smash Bros community.
