Pound 2016, also known as Pound VI, is the seventh event in the Pound tournament series created by Plank. The event is scheduled to be hosted in McLean, Virginia, United States from April 2-3, 2016. Tournaments will be hosted by Plank in conjunction with Nintendude and TheTantalus, from the VGBootCamp team.[1]
Pound 2016 is the second tournament organized by Plank after being included in the SmashBoards Tournament Organizer Blacklist in 2011, following controversies involving the payout of players at Pound V.[2][3] Although Plank remains blacklisted on SmashBoards, the organization went on to pay all players from Pound V before officially opening registration for Pound 2016.[4][5] Registration was officially opened on December 4th, 2015, after several players reported receiving payment from Pound V.[6][7][8]
