- At CEO 2015, ZeRo, Nairo, and Dabuz respectively take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U singles, and Leffen, Armada, and Mango respectively take 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Melee singles. Mr. R & Anti and Armada & Shroomed win Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Melee doubles, respectively.

- The Project M 3.6 Beta is released, adding new stages, costumes, features, and more.

- A Nintendo Direct for Super Smash Bros. 4 officially reveals Roy, Ryu, Suzaku Castle, Dream Land 64 and various Mii costumes as downloadable content, available in the newly released 1.0.8 update. Hyrule Castle and Peach's Castle are revealed as future dowloadable content. A standalone app was also released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop that allows players to use their 3DS systems as controllers for the Wii U version without requiring a copy of the 3DS version.

- The contents of the accidentally released 1.0.8 update to SSBU are datamined, confirming Roy and Ryu as downloadable content, correlating with previous datamining of the 1.0.6 update to SSB3DS. Other new content confirmed includes Suzaku Castle and Dream Land (64) as new stages in the Wii U version, and additional Mii Fighter costumes.
