July 1 List

New month means new list. Now that we're halfway into 2015, I've decided to shake up the rankings yet again by modifying the current system. For too long, characters have been helped or hindered by their earlier, shittier scores, so now the rankings only take the last 6 months of the meta into account. Already, we can see some improvements, such as Olimar learning his place, and Samus/Ness escaping from the shitter. Unfortunately, this also lead to some retarded point distributions, forcing me to combine the top six characters into the "These Guys Should Be In Their Own Tiers But Whatever" Tier just to make the list readable.

Also, Peach is still #1. Dammit.

June 1 List

It really shouldn't be all that surprising that Peach is once again #1 for some reason, despite the whole meta pretty much saying otherwise. It's like the damn Mii Fighters situation all over again...

In other news, Roy, Robot, and Toon Link were rescued from the bottom tiers, Olimar and Pikachu continue their dives into mediocrity, and the Ice Climbers sit in their own tier at the bottom for the 5th month straight, thereby tying the record for "most consecutive last place finishes" with v3.0 Lucario. Here's to half a year of utter failure!

April 1 List

As you can see, the 3.5 Meta has stabilized a bit more, to the point where the characters are now finally in their proper places. Sheik is now in the #1 spot for the first time ever, showing that you don't need to worry to be a furry. Or something. Mario is back up near the top, as his LOLFIREBALL game is just too good to pass up. Due to some very minor changes with the fireball, Dock Mock now has his own slot. Don't ask me why he's so low in comparison to Mario. It's probably because his suckitude from smuh-forsche has tainted his game.

After nearly four months of development, people have finally realized that Mewtwo has been nerfed to be slightly less overpowered, and is thus no longer worth playing competitively.

March 1 List

With this list, we make the transition into "throwing out everything pre-3.5" mode. All records dated before 11/14/2014 are no longer being used, which of course means less data, which of course means less accurate results. Except, in this case, it's more accurate because it doesn't let outdated character dominance weigh it down when it's trying to shed a few hundred pounds off of its fat ass. that being said, it's obvious that some characters have been... affected... by this change. All of the super gimmick characters have been bumped down to the shit tiers, all of the top-tier Melee characters are closer to the top, and all is right with the world.

December 30 List

With a new year comes a new list. Fox once again reclaims his number one spot, kicking ZSSamus down to #3. A clear change has emerged in this list, with the new meta allowing characters such as Peach, Ike, Pikachu, Samus, and even Kirby to gain some strength for once. Ike has reached a level that hasn't been seen since the June List, while Peach and Kirby have reached their highest placings yet. Meanwhile, Ice Climbers, Yoshi, and Lucario continue to disappoint. Lucario has spent the past 5 months in last place, of which the past 3 have left him in his own tier to rot.

This list has the shortest gap between first and last place out of all the previous tier lists.

December 1 List

This is the first list to be compiled following the release of version 3.5. As such, the list is expected to undergo some noticeable shifting over the coming months. Also, Zero Suit Samus once again reclaims her place in the #1 spot and Lucario continues to show us just how good he is.

Just as a side note, the gap between the greater/lesser high tiers is the same as the gap between Charizard and Zelda. The list is presented this way for aesthetic reasons.

October 1 List

For the first time ever, three characters are in their own tiers. Also for the first time ever since the first list, Fox has somehow managed to overcome ZSSamus to reclaim his place as the #1 character. Meanwhile, Down-B spammers and Street-Fighter Illiterates continue to plague our two bottom-tiered characters.

September 1 List

This month brings two lists: the first is compiled in a new style that is not based on arbitrary character placings, while the second is compiled in the same fashion used to create the previous lists. Though there are some minor differences, the overall list order is very similar between the two.

May 10 List

Much like the previous list, the bottom tier is comprised solely of characters that have yet to win a single tournament. This list has shifted in such as way as to more closely resemble the current tier list, and it's expected to continue to become more accurate as further data is added.

Zero Suit Samus has displaced Fox as the number one position as Zero Suit Samus mains continue to perform well in tournaments. Pit, Meta Knight, Mario, Snake, and Lucas are currently in the process of moving up the list towards their "official" positions. Marth, Zelda, Link, and Ivysaur continue to perform poorly as a result of their high popularity with newer players, though they are expected to rise in a similar fashion as Mario once the game's userbase stabilizes a bit.

May 1 List

At the time this list was created, the bottom five characters had yet to win a single tournament, and the Ice Climbers only participated in six recorded events. As such, this list became outdated quickly, causing a new one to be compiled only ten days later.
