A friend icon is the image that appears next to a player's name in the Friend Roster of the With Friends option when playing on Wi-Fi. There are 77 different icons, excluding Miis. The default Friend Icon, which also appears next to the names of unregistered players, is the symbol of a figure in a circle.

Some icons must be unlocked prior to their use (such as unlocking their respective characters).
