Talk:Rosalina
Eye Color
Her eyes aren't Blue, or Green on that technicality, or even Cyan. Their Brilliant opal. According to Perbang.dk, a website designed to identify color names by using their RGB Color Codes, we can see on the color wheel shown That Brilliant Opal is closer to green than it is blue. Since we only go with actual eye colors they are closest too on this website, instead of what they actually are (according to SeanWheeler), I say we label her eyes as Green, not Blue (they dont even look blue), since that's what its closest too. Though in all honesty, I think we should just state that their Brilliant Opal, and be done with it.

- Shrug, they match the color of her dress (which people like to say it's cyanish blue). We're going on insistent terminology here. These color names are supposed to help with web design and text colors, not necessarily identify eye color. Rosalina's eye color is closer to, say, Mario's eye color compared to Sonic's eye color.

- If they match the color of her dress, then its safe to say the dress is Brilliant Opal as well. Going off by what the eye sees, against going by a website designed to list color names by RBG codes just doesn't make sense. Different people have different eyes, and as a result everyone see's things differently. Lets not forget some people are colorblind, and most who are dont even know it. People who can look at her dress and eyes and say "her dress and eyes are blue!" are obviously color blind, yet are oblivious too it, because they (dress and eyes) are not (blue). And yes while her eyes aren't Sonic Green, they aren't Mario Blue either. Again, click the link and look at the color wheel, her eyes are closer to green than they are blue. I dont care really if their listed as green, opal, or cyan, but I can tell you that her eyes are no where near blue. Again, the color wheel provided shows proof of my claim.

Look why does this matter? It's effectively insignificant. Toomai Glittershine The Different 16:32, 10 January 2014 (EST)
- It is... but can we settle on something?

- I'm just trying to provide accurate information to the best of my ability. I'm not a hard core smash player, so i cant provide descriptions of move sets as analyzed in images, nor am I a "hard core" Nintendo fan that can point out Easter eggs and provide info on said Easter eggs. But what I can do is try to correct and fix mistakes when it comes to character descriptions and colors. Color Coordination is something i specialize in. And Labeling her as another generic "blond haired and blue eyed" female character is wrong because her eyes aren't blue, their no where near blue. Green, Opal, or Cyan, those will work, but not blue. Because, again, using the color wheel as a guide clearly shows their not anywhere near blue.
Ixbran (talk) 16:40, 10 January 2014 (EST)- My eyes are hazel, but more people come to see it as brown, and that works as well. This is not a mistake but rather putting the term into a more broad label so it is generally agreed that it is that color. Making it "brilliant opal" is again, being anal about whenever something is "purple" or "lavender" or "violet". Plain cyan/teal/opal is the best compromise for this, and I will edit to reflect this. Just leave it at opal, this isn't something worth arguing over at all, and there's no rule that says we must only put in "real eye colors". Omega Tyrant 16:44, 10 January 2014 (EST)
- Okay, done.

- Thank you. I also want to apologize for having this escalate as far as it has. My OCD was kinda raging at the sight of labeling her eyes as blue, when they aren't. So if I have caused anyone headaches from this, again, my sincerest apologize.
Ixbran (talk) 16:50, 10 January 2014 (EST)- Sometimes, you just have to let it go of your pedantic, politically-correct tendencies. But, overall, no damage has been done other than a silly discussion. That's all. ;)

I s'pose your right. Though i come from somewhat of a ... demanding family. being politically-correct is usually the only way you can reason with my family, lol. I try to not to let it to get too me online, but some times it just ... happens. Thank you for understanding.
:)

I had a similar argument with Tabuu's skin color. And opal isn't an eye color either. While the RGB scale may show that opal has more green than blue, to me opal just looks like a light blue. Like a skyblue. Sure, it may be a lighter blue than Sonic's fur or Mario's overalls, but they still look blue to me. And about my argument of Tabuu, I had a major argument about whether Tabuu is green or blue with a kid at the Music Institute of Chicago. And when I look in the mirror, my eyes look green, but genetically they are blue. And most blondes have blue eyes. While Rosalina's eyes are lighter than Mario's, they are only slightly. If you compare her eyes to Sonic, there is a drastic difference. Also, when you read Rosalina's physical description on Super Mario Wiki, blue was often used to describe her. "her eyes are a lighter shade of blue" "Rosalina wears a gown said to be a color that only exists when the sun peers out of the clouds." What color is the sky when the sun is out? You should know this since kindergarten: BLUE! Her basic color scheme is supposed to be blue. Sorry, but I think her eyes should be considered blue. They would have to look greener to be considered green. SeanWheeler (talk) 17:49, 10 January 2014 (EST)
- "and there's no rule that says we must only put in "real eye colors"."
- Ixbran already proved the color is specifically opal, we don't need to generalise to "blue" or "green" because it "isn't a real eye color". Opal is right, "blue" and "green" are wrong. Now stop with this completely insignificant argument. Omega Tyrant 17:54, 10 January 2014 (EST)
Whobby Game Festival Demo
In the summary for the most recent edit, I stated that there was no proof that the "Whobby Game Festival" ever happened, but I was actually mistaken. Regardless, I still don't think the rumor of Rosalina appearing as an Assist Trophy in the demo belongs on this page since it is just a rumor made up by someone and she was most likely never actually in Brawl. It should stay on the "List of rumors" page.
