- Nintendo Special Big Band (任天堂スペシャルビッグバンド); a concert at the Japanese 2014 Super Music Festival (超音楽祭) plays Super Mario, Donkey Kong/Zelda, Kirby/Animal Crossing, Pokémon and Super Smash Bros. music.

- Curse brings Hungrybox on as the second member of their new Melee team after bringing Chillindude829 on earlier this week.

- Yoshi is confirmed as a returning playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. Veteran characters Zero Suit Samus, Sheik, and Charizard also return, all confirmed to now be stand-alone characters. Greninja is confirmed as a newcomer. Many other elements of the new games are confirmed in the Super Smash Bros. Direct presentation.
