Global Smash Power is the online ranking system found in Super Smash Bros. 4. Announced during Nintendo Direct, the system ranks all players on a numeric scale, with the number referencing how many players are considered worse than the ranked player. For instance, a player with a rank of 251,357 would be better than 251,356 other players. The system is is unusual for being an inverse ranking system; whereas other games would feature 1 as the best player, the Global Smash Power would rank this as the worst player, with the rank meaning that the player is better than 0 players.

According to Masahiro Sakurai, the Global Smash Power of players will only be influenced by solo play modes, and that multiplayer matches will be ignored; however, he did note that "there would be some sort of matchmaking" during online play.
