"Custom Move Sets" are a feature for Super Smash Bros. 4 that allow players to customize some aspects of the characters' Special moves. The feature was revealed and demonstrated under the header "Mysterious Special Moves" in the April 2014 Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct. Several examples are shown:
- Mario throws a large, slow fireball in one clip and a small, fast fireball unaffected by gravity in another.
- Pit fires an arrow which makes a loop after a short distance.
- Marth executes a Shield Breaker covering a very long distance.
- Mario attacks with a firey, powerful version of his Super Jump Punch.
- Kirby's Inhale move freezes an opponent and appears to push away rather than pull toward.
- DK executes a slow-moving Headbutt giving him Launch resistance.
They can only apply when playing locally or online with friends.
Earlier, in June 2013, Masahiro Sakurai had stated that players will be able to customize characters in the 3DS game and transfer those customizations to the WiiU game.[1]
