- Daisy and Birdo are confirmed as playable characters, as is Waluigi, who was previously thought to be an Assist Trophy again. Also, a stage based on the fanfic Sylvia the Sylveon has been confirmed.

- Mega Mewtwo is confirmed via Nintendo Direct. Along with that, Ridley and Genesect have been confirmed as DLC free with pre-orders of the game, and $1.99 each when the game is released.

- Pac-Man and Snake were confirmed as playable characters via Nintendo Direct. Along with them, Blinky and Psycho Mantis were announced as assists, and a Maze-related Pac-Man level.

- Wreck-It Ralph has been confirmed as a playable newcomer via Nintendo Direct. Additionally, Vanellope Von Schweetz has been confirmed to be a new Assist Trophy.

- The Poltergust 5000 has been confirmed as a new move of Luigi's in Super Smash Bros. 4, strongly implied to be his new Final Smash.

- The previously confirmed Lumoise City stage has been revealed as Prism Tower.

- Andross has been confirmed to reappear in at least the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. 4
