Reverts[edit]

Yeah, the article is painful to read. I'll fix that later. Maybe. In the meantime, enjoy redirecting people out of the main namespace when they're looking for smash community info. --Randall00 22:23, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

All those community pages are not smash related and should be deleted and replaced by external links. Dtm142 22:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Uh, right that comment is a year and a bit old and applies to a much earlier version of the page. They're clearly smash-related. --Randall00 23:24, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
Almost identical. Dtm142 02:44, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

entity[edit]

This article does not elaborate on what the smash community IS. It speaks of it as an entity, or organization; which it is not, in the traditional sense. Zixor (talk) 05:21, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Bringing the article up to date a bit[edit]

Recently a Smashboards user named GreatGonzales collected some demographic information in the Smash community across several websites. I suggest we integrate some of that into the article. I also feel like there's a little bit more to talk about the community than its presence, such as its participation in the contests in the Brawl Dojo. I'll make some tentative changes to the article. --Quilt (talk) 03:49, 21 August 2013 (EDT)

I have removed the tag suggesting the article be brought up to date, but if anyone feels like additional details are needed to fill the void, please point me in the right direction. I also added tentative demographic data on the smash community, and I admit that I would like to see censuses become an official feature of the community. Smasher Ghostbone has suggested that the tournament presence for characters suggested by the census is very inaccurate. If anyone can provide data on the presence of characters in tournaments then that would be great. --Quilt (talk) 03:01, 24 August 2013 (EDT)

Demographic[edit]

According to the graph data, there is a correlation between tiers and character usage, but it also states that the casual players play the same characters just as much as tournament players in almost the exact same proportions (results for 64, Melee, and Brawl.) Either tiers also affect casual character preferences or tier seem to have little statistical influence on tournament character preference, barring further data. The former has not been substantiated while the latter still seems to be true. Additionally, I am not sure if listing only the single most popular character in each game is significant enough to warrant being information of interest. --Quilt (talk) 22:26, 24 August 2013 (EDT)
