The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Forum:Wikia does it again
So Wikia, in their grand wisdom, decided to comply with a law that prevents under 13 year olds from sharing personal information with websites without parental consent by...blocking all anonymous editing for wikias that are "aimed at children".
Here's a nice comment about Wikia's latest asinine methods of handling new rule implementations from one of the users on the affected wikias:
"As a law student myself, please allow me to point out the little fact that the law is there for everyone and if wikia wants to uphold COPPA this way, they can indeed, but then they must be fair and subject every wiki to the same rules and not some arbitrarily chosen wikis. So the main point here is double: 1. all the negative consequences that this severe action will have, and 2. the fact that it is not enforced fairly, as only selected wikis will be affected by this and not all the wikis. That's not enforcing the law, that's picking and choosing according to their own standard -which, btw, no one knows." — Lady Lostris, Administrator of the Avatar Wiki
Not to mention the fact that allowing IP editing doesn't have anything to do with the law, since you don't need to share any information to edit as an IP.
And yes, SmashWikia is considered "aimed at children" and thus no longer can IPs edit there, which should kill SmashWikia's small activity even farther. Since we're a wiki that values IP editing, we preemptively dodged a big one here by making the decision to move off Wikia. Omega Tyrant 23:22, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- I never liked Wikia and it has always been doing stupid crap like this. I also don't understand how SSB is "aimed at children". Oh well, pretty good that this wiki has actual good rules. Scr7
