Brawl
Hey Smash Master. You seem like a pretty good player. Do you wanna brawl sometime? THEAVENGINGBANDIT 22:26, 5 February 2012 (EST)

- I want to, but I have an early curfue (rediculous if you ask me). Sorry to disappoint you. -_- Smash Master (talk) 21:55, 6 February 2012 (EST)
- A 19:00 curfew? You've gotta be kidding me. But you can still play Brawl. Again, if you have an IRC client, click this so we don't fill up the recent changes. If you don't, click this and type in "/join ##mainchow" without the quotes. If you can't brawl me, then we'll try this again tomorrow. THEAVENGINGBANDIT 22:07, 6 February 2012 (EST)
- It's not THAT early, and for some reason my CPU won't go to the IRC. And, trust me, this is super crazy, my parents won't let me play on week days, except Fridays, my parents are TOO strict, this might have to be done on Friday. If you think it's too long then I agree. Smash Master (talk) 22:25, 6 February 2012 (EST)

- Aw, don't be like that, I enjoy fighting you. You should fight my older bro. too, his main is Kirby too, and he's better than me with him, that was how I got my skill. And that last battle when you were Metaknight, that was him fighting you, I had to clean the bathroom during the last fight. He and I both think you fight well. And he plays Smash Bros. like 24hrs. He's been playing Smash Bros. since 2001 like me, only he played on an earlier month. He kills me in SSB64, SSBM, and SSBB. Smash Master 18:20, 17 February 2012 (EST)

Your thoughts
LOL. You think you have an advantageous matchup against OT, the smasher who tested every aspect of Brawl, attended plenty of tournaments, and has been playing Smash Bros. since 2003? Doubt it. THEAVENGINGBANDIT 17:59, 16 February 2012 (EST)

Would you like to brawl
I just recently started using online brawl and I kinda want to test my skills out on players here. You free anytime soon? Let me know on my talk page or find me on the IRC where I am known as Brian. Until then, I'll be looking forward to battling you. --1337 B33FC4K3 (talk) 00:36, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
Hey man, sorry about leaving you hanging here. I heard you totally destroyed Lightning Blue and Accoolx. If you have time tomorrow, please let me know if you want to brawl. If you have last minute homework to do or family events, I understand. My brawl code is 0990-0677-6281 in case you didn't get it. Respond to my talk page or find me on the IRC. See you soon man. --1337 B33FC4K3 (talk) 03:11, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
That's totally fine man. Brawl me whenever you have time. I look forward to it. --1337 B33FC4K3 (talk) 16:20, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
Hey Man, it seems our schedules just don't seem to make things work. Anyway, I just got back from a long road trip. I'm very tired right now from alot of driving but if you're up for it, I can brawl right now. --1337 B33FC4K3 (talk) 21:02, 8 April 2012 (EDT)
It's k man, I totally understand. Don't worry, it takes alot to make me mad. Well lets hope next week will work. Cya then. --1337 B33FC4K3 (talk) 21:36, 8 April 2012 (EDT)

Are you free now? --BrianDon't try me! 21:40, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
Since it's memorial day weekend, would you like to brawl now. Also, can I ask we brawl for it's own sake, not to determine matchups. Not to belittle your skill and it's great that you have a desire to improve and go competitive, but I find that brawling purely to win and disregard fun will lead to unnecessary conflicts and arguments. --BrianDon't try me! 21:19, 27 May 2012 (EDT)

yo
On your Smashwiki userbox, I noticed that your stats are very high or op. Are those stats really true or are you trying to make your self look great but your not? ..... The Autistic 21:13, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- The stats are true, I wouldn't lie about myself. Smash Master 21:17, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- To be honest, I'd have to say none of those stats are true. At all. Your idea of dispute skills is being able to rephrase your previous point over and over again. Saying you have 100% smash skill means you are the god of Brawl, and you aren't even close that. Your smash knowledge is a lie, as anyone who thinks Kirby's f-smash being viable as a spam move, online and offline, should consider getting a brain checkup for proper identification skills of what character you are playing. You thought alot is a word, so your spelling stat should be lower. Having a 100% wikipresence would mean you are always on the Wiki, which you contradict on your user page. Why lie to other users when they just want to know if you're telling the truth? MegaTron1XD 22:41, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
It's his userpage, he can be as narcissistic or as humble as he wants. Userboxes are just for fun, and shouldn't be used to derive an accurate view of the user (other than how highly he/she views themself). Mousehunter321 (talk · contributions) 23:23, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
- Oh, I thought they were to show other users what you are like, but OK. Smash Master 23:28, 25 March 2012 (EDT)
Simplifying mainspace sections/articles
Unless the content is unnecessarily explained, do not try to oversimplify things so that a second grader would understand it. Things that explain specifics (Kirby's buffs and nerfs) should be kept as so, since the explanations are necessary for a reader to know what specific attributes were nerfed. Base Knockback and weakness clarification
To understand the strength of the move, you have to understand the various factors involved. There are two factors of knockback - base knockback and knockback scaling. Knockback scaling is how quickly knockback increases as damage increases. Base Knockback is essentially knockback at zero percent.
Kirby's Final Cutter has decent base knockback, which makes it very good in Multi-Man mode. However, it has no knockback scaling - that is, it has set knockback. Moves with set knockback have the same amount of knockback at any damage. So if you use Kirby's Up Special on an opponent at 100%, it will do the same amount of knockback as if the opponent was at 0% (often it will be even lower, due to stale move negation). Hope that explains things. Mr. Anontalk 17:40, 1 April 2012 (EDT)
- Oh, I just think that attacks with high base knockback are strong in general rather it grows knockback or not, but thanks for the explanation. Smash Master 17:51, 1 April 2012 (EDT)

Couple pieces of advice
Use the preview button - Yah, you find too many errors between small intervals. Use the preview button so that you can find all the errors at once.
Don't assume people are idiots - We are a Smash Wiki. We have exact info on knockback scaling and frames. Heck, we should have exact info for every single knockback, damage, and frames. Point is, Smash Wiki is striving to gather as much info on attacks as we can, since many smashers consider frame knowledge as the key to learning about the attack and it's attributes. Don't simplify stuff for no reason unless it is clearly unnecessary.
Don't argue about stuff that doesn't actually matter - You made quite a scene yesterday on Toast's talk page. Now, let's think about it. Did you actually have to care about whether or not Toast incorrectly listed a stat? No, you should never care. Don't care so much about a flaw a user pointed out. Instead, try to fix that flaw. Toast was just referring to how you do not utilize proper spelling and grammar. Whether or not he said 100% would not matter. In the end, he was just pointing out your flaw.
Don't back up claims without proper research and/or proof - Why do you think that falling speed is the only thing that matters when it comes to vertical endurance? Why do you think that you can just say that you're much better offline than online? You need proof and/or research for claims about the game or your skills. If you don't have proof and/or research, you can not expect people to believe you.
Don't contradict yourself - Probably the stuff the users on Smash Wiki joke about the most. You contradict yourself a lot. I don't know how you can improve on not contradicting yourself, so you're not getting any advice on this.
Don't attempt to make yourself seem better than you actually are - Damn, this has properly been the first issue you've had when you came to the Wiki. You want people to believe you don't suck? Don't just tell them that you're good offline. Provide actual proof, and don't use a future event to "prove" that you are good. Also, matchups do not determine how good you are. If I brawled 10 rookies at Brawl, would I be better than the guy who beat a single professional? Nope, not at all. Don't incorrectly use matchups to determine how pro you are.
You're sorta new here, so yah, you're expected to have some flaws. However, your attitude and flaws are expected to change when users express problems with them. Change the attitude and fix the flaws. MegaTron1XD 13:03, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- I'm smarter than you think, it's not just falling speed the helps survive vertically, weight is a factor of it too, it's like your saying that I think that Samas has a poor vertical endurance, but she doesn't, 'cause she's heavy. And like I said a million times, I'll prove my skill when I have the time. Smash Master 13:17, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- Your reasoning behind why Falco has great vertical endurance is that he has high falling speed. If I misunderstood that, my fault, but you did link to the DK buff from SSB to Melee, so I assumed that you were only using the falling speed as a basis. And I really don't care if you think you're smart. If you fail to use proper grammar and spelling while editing, you'll still be told to fix that. Also, if you think you'll be able to prove your skill when you have the time, don't continue any arguments relating to your smash skill. It would be hopeless to think that just because you say you'll do it means you will definitely do it. If you don't have the time to go to a tourney, end conversations relating to your offline skill by saying that you just haven't got the time to do anything. Would save a lot of time when it comes to ending the argument. It would help if you just listened to my advice and fix your flaws, rather than stress that your mistakes (note mistakes) are not purely mistakes. MegaTron1XD 13:47, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
- That's what I'm trying to say, but until I have the proof you guys need, rap up the skill talk 'til then. Smash Master 13:55, 6 May 2012 (EDT)
