The Skill parameter has been removed from Smasher infoboxes, and in its place are the new "Best historical ranking" and "Best tournament result" parameters. SmashWiki needs help adding these new parameters to Smasher infoboxes, refer to the guidelines here for what should be included in these new parameters. |
When adding results to Smasher pages, include each tournament's entrant number in addition to the player's placement, and use the {{Trn}} template with the matching game specified. Please also fix old results on Smasher pages that do not abide to this standard. Refer to our Smasher article guidelines to see how results tables should be formatted. |

Forum:Melee Stage Articles
I don't think it's necessary to put the location name in front of the stage title in articles about Melee stages. The stages aren't typically recognised with these titles. People don't say Eagleland: Onett, they just say Onett. Especially so, as that stage returned for Brawl, where it is just called Onett. Or if you include the subtitle, it would be EarthBound: Onett. Some of these article names are just silly, like Yoshi's Island: Yoshi's Island, and these subtitles are mentioned in the infobox, so I don't feel it needs to go in the title. An exception can be made for Mushroom: Kingdom and Mushroom: Kingdom II, but otherwise, I would rather these articles be shortened. What do you guys think? Toast ltimatum

- Agree. SW:OFFICIAL states that we should use the common name for the stages over official name. If we use Forward tilt over Side Strong, where the line is relatively thin in terms of common usage, then Onett takes priority over Eagleland: Onett. Mr. Anon

- Agree. I've always thought they were pointless. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 07:54, 12 November 2011 (EST)

- Neutral: Some pages would look better, but there would be some pages (such as Mushroom: Kingdom, like you said) that wouldn't be changed because they'd look worse, and the inconsistency would look weird. PenguinofDeath 10:19, 12 November 2011 (EST)
Can there either be a few more signatures, or a final decision please? Toast

- Support. Some of these articles would undoubtedly benefit, such as Fourside, Great Bay and Corneria, PoD's point about stages such as Mushroom Kingdom, while valid, only applies to it and Mushroom Kingdom II; in this case, I believe only the colon should be removed. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 14:05, 23 November 2011 (EST)

Looks like this has near-unanimous support, so let's call this passed. Unfortunately only admins can do the work to get the pages moved since there are redirects in the way, so it will take a bit of time before it's complete. Toomai Glittershine The Chilled 09:51, 1 January 2012 (EST)
Little problem
Judging by Special:DoubleRedirects we're not done yet. --HavocReaper48 14:00, 8 January 2012 (EST)
