Forum:Smash Arena
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.
The Rules
- When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
- You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
- Put a
#
before your vote to facilitate the vote counting. - Type
~~~~
after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. - There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
- Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
- Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section. It is recommended that you do not post argumentative, accusative, or any sort of comment with the intention of starting an argument with someone on the opposing side. The Smash Arena is a popularity contest, there's no need to argue with the other side on why your choice is superior, or why they are wrong with their reasoning for picking their choice.
- You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
- Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).
- Do not put your vote in the Half-Votes section. It is not where anonymous users vote, nor is it acceptable to want your vote to be worth half. It is basically saying "I want to be punished", and you will be treated accordingly.
- If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.
If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.
Luigi vs. Diddy Kong
Winner!! Luigi 29.5 to 12 |
Next up is a pair of second bananas, both more agile and less conventional than their more well-known counterparts. Both originating as palette swaps before being distinctified in later games, which of the two has it here?
Bumper vs. Flipper
Winner!! Bumper 28.5 to 7 |
|||||
Two items designed to whack anyone that gets in range once set, with the main difference being that the Flipper bonks you multiple times while the Bumper gives you a healthy (though non-damaging) punt. They've never co-existed, so which one has the fan approval?
Hmm... this got me thinking... what would happen if you could set a bumper and a flipper at the same place, and then set one of them off? The bumper would hit the flipper and the flipper would hit the bumper........ Hmm... Hmmmm... I wanted to try if a Bumper can be used for recovery by throw it near the blast line and hit it when I dropped, but my Wii is under repair! Did someone knows the result?Kirbythe Amazing 01:22, 27 February 2011 (EST)
Link vs. Marth
Winner!! Marth 18.5 to 22 |
|||||
While Link is certainly less one-dimensional than Marth's sword-only fighting style, the blue-haired one has finesse that the Hero of Time/Hyrule/Twilight/etc may not be able to match. Which ends up being the victor?
Winner!! Charizard 9 to 9.5 to 21
The last battle in this five-pack is a three-way between Pokémon Trainer's three Pokémon. Like other multi-way fights, this won't count in the statistics. Will it be the representative of water, grass, or fire that wins?
