Marth (マルス, Marusu?) is a character from Intelligent System's Fire Emblem series of video games and a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Brawl. More specifically, he is the central protagonist and Lord-class character of the original game Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi, the third game, Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo, and the upcoming remake Fire Emblem DS. Although Marth's Fire Emblem titles were released only in Japan, he has acquired more widespread international attention through his recurring appearances in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series of fighting games.[1] In the Smash Bros. franchise, he makes his first appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Marth was officially confirmed to return in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as an unlockable character on the Smash Bros. DOJO!! website Feburary 7th, 2008.[2]
