The Red Shell is very similar to the Green Shell. However, wheras the Green Shell immediately flies off the platform its on and out into space, the Red Shell stays on the platform and goes back and forth while homing in on any enemies that get close. This advantage is counterbalanced by a slight decrease in damage with each hit.
