Depending on how you count it (splitting Samus/Zero Suit Samus, Zelda/Sheik, Pokemon Trainer → Squirtle/Ivysaur/Charizrd), you can have up to 39, but there's no others that weren't explained via official sources (i.e. the DOJO!!).
